  1. Prepare for early May https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLeNzDYMnqAqIeZHWU9iOWnj_2OaemupQG
  2. Nice to hear from you again! The corexy is just waiting ... and waiting until there's some spare time again. Nice work with the feeder. I especially like the filament guiding. Did you machine it by yourself?

Test print while finishing the magnetic tool changer beta for public release. Printed with Olsson ruby for the PLA and a coated nozzle prototype from 3DSolex for the FlexiFil (shore 45D).
  4. Open RC wheel by Daniel Norée. PLA and FlexiFil (shore 45D) [print=11891][/print]
  5. Yeah, to make the upgrade as simple as possible we don't alter the standard print head but just pick up the other one. So there is a x offset like in the UM3 and some y offset as well. One of the benefits of this approach is that single extrusion mode will remain exactly as before.
  6. This is not exactly what the final release will look like but it shows the principle.

  8. I learned the name should make clear that it's a community project and avoid misinterpretation as something released directly by Ultimaker. At least there's a "2" in it and additionally, any upcoming "upgrade" for UM2s what else could it be than dual extrusion
  9. Not an electronics expert, but a SSR (solid state relay like this one ) should do it. At least for on/off switching with limited frequency.
  10. saw it in the video but didn't find any pictures or files. If I find the time I should change it to a folding bellows and work on the valves.
  11. Foot pump with two integrated valves. PLA and Flexifil, no prime tower. Fingers crossed ...
  12. Well the 2nd nozzle sits approx 2.5mm lower so it's just 0.7-0.8 mm above the bed when the 1st head is printing the first layer.
  13. No additional work for you guys There are some really smart people in the tool changer beta group who could adapt a ZGE UM2 head mount for the extra head if there's interest.
  14. Adapting it to the 2nd tool changer head should be pretty easy, if the design allows for the 3 mm lifting of the parked head. I don't know well your system, sorry I don't understand what you mean by the " 3mm lifting " When we park the 2nd head (where the nozzle sits 2.5 mm lower) it will be lifted 3mm in order to avoid any contact with the build plate when the 1st head is printing first layers.

  16. Interesting project! @SyntaxTerror is working on a small device that probably can be used for this purpose (depending on the required amperage).
  17. Depends on what you consider UM3 style. You can achieve the same print quality and almost same user friendliness with the tool changer (scroll a little back and forth get get an impression) a community project which is in beta testing right now. The good thing, it's by far the least expensive dual extrusion approach available. Besides the 2nd feeder and hotend it's just 30 €/$. And it leaves single extrusion printing completely unchanged.
  18. Using 90% greentec filament atm. As already mentioned, adhesion to PVA is similar (mediocre) than with regular PLA. If there is a chance to reach the support sturctures for removal with some kind of tool I prefer Polysupport from Polymaker. Same surface quality without dissolving, but only if you can remove the support manually.
  19. First test with Cura 2.4 and the current firmware release. No prime tower, no wiper, 0.8 nozzle on ext1, 0.4 on ext2.
  20. @Labern, you have a company nearby doing this, that's great! Curious about the results. I always wanted to try this. Even wondered why no one is trying this for surfaces inside the hotend.
