  1. so for a more complete answer;

    yes the UM3 comes out of the boxed with an installed AA and BB core, pre-calibrated. there is a "spare"  AA core that you can use to have AA+AA prints, with dual material in dual color

    I believe this is incorrect, the printers we have received does only have one AA installed and a AA and a BB in the Accessory box, and it asks you to insert the BB during the initial start up guide.

  2. SLA is great if you need detail or/and a very nice surface finish i would say, it is very messy tough... i had a Form1+ before but almost never used it since it was too much work to be worth it for the stuff i do.

    I like SLS printed parts for not having to dissolve a support material, their greater isotropy and the surface finish that makes layer lines pretty invisible and looks professional :-)

  3. I don't think 720/1080 would help that. The 4:3 ratio allows to see better even the bed, 1024 could be better ofc.

    1600 x 1200px with better color rendition and better optics, or the sensor from the smartphone in my pocket, 4:3 with 4032 x 3024px resolution would be nice (the last one would probably increase the price quite a bit tough...) ;)

    Something like this would be nice:

  4. really wanna upgrade my printer, and i think that most of the people, will agree to pay around 500-1000$ for a upgrade kit

    It they did a upgrade kit from UM2 to UM3 it would most certainly not be 500$-1000$... (the UM2+ upgrade kit is 500$, and this upgrade would be substantially more), it would be more along the lines of 2500$ i would guess since so many parts have changed, and it would be a very time consuming install.

    I would suggest that you sell your UM2 and get a UM3 instead if you want good dual extrusion.

  5. Question time: Can we remove/replace the nozzles in a similar fashion to the Olsson block?

    You can not. the construction of the print core makes it pretty hard to do without damaging the print core and getting it assembled right, also it does not use E3D-style nozzles like the Olsson block, but a longer nozzle with finer threads that go all the way trough the block and ends in a stainless heatbreak.

  6. @rasputin: Honestly the bullshit comment might have been over the top, sorry about that everyone, but i was just so tired after reading so many comments about Ultimaker promising dual extrusion (mostly on facebook), that when @CCA1 kept insisting on that there were lots of information that said the UM2+ would get dual extrusion when he bought it, while in reality there were only some threads here on the forum with people talking about dual extrusion and a official statement more than a year before the release of the UM2+ clearly stating there would be none, i got quite a bit annoyed.

    I can see why people are annoyed since Ultimaker has been great at releasing upgrades and giving people upgrade paths before, and the fact that it was communicated that the UM2 would get dual extrusion in the future between its release 09/2013 and 01/2015, but the many comments here (and even more on Social Media) are just crazy...

    Agreed. Half a year would not be business savvy. But a couple weeks maybe a month doesn't seem to far fetched?

    I can absolutely agree with you about the timeframe, i honestly was very surprised that they started just over a week before the launch, 3-4 weeks would have been much better in many ways.
