As i said i'm a total newbie in CAD softwares but yesterday i followed the first tutorial of DesignSparks Mechanical it took me less than an hour, and this morning i was able to create 3 simple object i had in mind in less than a hour work. I save as STL and put in Cura and it slices perfectly (still have to test on my UM2 that should arrive very soon). I like that it's very precise in scales and quite straight forward to use

Vincent d'après ce que j'ai déjà lu sur le forum la technique que tu utilises pour la colle est la bonne. Et il ne faut pas en mettre pour chaque print ce n'est pas nécessaire normalement.

Est ce que tu arrives a écrire quelque chose sur ta carte en dehors de Cura?

I just took a quick look at designspark mechanical (a couple of minutes) because it seems to be mentionned a lot for the moment. It looks pretty powerful and quite straight forward to use. I will definitely look at this more closely. I think that it's also a good idea to work with several CAD softwares because some are more easy to use to do some stuff that others softwares can't to (think of the supports with meshmixer).

Hi all, I found a nice tutorial for painting printed objects. I saw a video of a guy doing this on car parts or helmets a couple of months ago. Results are great. FormFutura je pense que c'est OK avec l'Ultimaker, du moins j'ai vu plusieurs fois des sujets sur le forum avec des filaments de chez eux.

When i was still in the process of finding the 3d printer to buy this forum and all the very interesting posts and comments was one of the big reasons to make me click on the buy button for the UM2. The community is great, i like how the gurus get involved in the problems posted here. I feel very confortable with my choice because the UM is a great machine and that if it fails for any reason i'll find good and helpfull help here very fast.

@MakingZone il me semble qu'il y a quand meme quelques marques de filaments qui font une taille réel de 3mm mais que ça ne passe pas bien dans l'ultimaker ou je me trompe?

Tu as une idée du fabricant de ta bobine? Sinon oui la plupart des filaments sont vendu en 3mm mais en réalité ils font 2.85mm avec une tolérance qui varie en fonction des marques. Tu trouveras les tailles réels des filaments sur les sites des constructeurs, si le filament fait vraiment 3mm je pense que ca ne passe pas sur une UM

From what i've read it seems that the main problem for PLA is heat. If exposed to the sun a black object might begin to 'melt' and loose its form. Other than that the biodegradability of PLA won't occur in natural conditions. I wasn't able to find many informations about this. My guess is white PLA should behave good outdoor.

I'm interested in this topic because i plan to make some outdoor stuff. I found this topic showing how a printed PLA object behaves in nasty conditions: http://www.protoparadigm.com/blog/2013/06/weathering-of-3d-printed-pla-objects/ I'm wondering if applying paint or some kind of varnish would change this... i have no experience sadly, during my internet search i found some stuff talking about dipping in Epoxy? Good point. Maybe this could be added in Youmagine? As i guess that most of the printable hacks are posted there. Maybe just a logo "Tested and Approved by Ultimaker" or something like that.

Great job I guess this is one of the first things i'll print once i have my UM2 this will probably help me not to grow more white hairs ^^

Pour info moi qui suis en attente de livraison (commandée le 10 Janvier) j'ai reçu un mail dernierement qui me disait que les délais de livraison étaient améliorés et que pour moi ce serait 8 semaines. Donc oui il y a un délais mais d'après tout ce que je vois ca en vaut la peine... Patience ^^

Tu imprimes avec du PLA ou de l'ABS ? Dans ton premier poste tu dis que c'est de l'ABS. Il me semble que la température idéale pour le PLA ce situe entre 210°c et 230°c (théorie toujours ^^)

Salut, Bienvenue sur le forum Je n'ai pas encore mon imprimante donc je ne te donne que de la théorie de ce que j'ai pu lire sur le forum dans la partie anglaise. Est ce que les pointes apparaissent sur les parties les plus hautes de l'objet que tu imprime (comme sur la pyramide)? Parce que si c'est le cas: http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/4125-bad-end/ Sinon y aussi ce sujet peut etre? http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/4045-poor-top-surface/ Moi j'aurais tendance a dire qu'il s'agit d'un probleme de refroidissement du plastique, comme la surface a créer est petite les couches du bas non pas le temps de refroidir assez avant d'avoir d'autres couches sur le dessus, donc ca fait une sorte de blob sur le dessus. Encore une fois ce n'est que de la théorie. Sinon ca pourrait etre un phénomène qui s'appelle 'stringing' en anglais. Essaie de poser la question en anglais il y a plein de mecs supers callés
