  1. Most of these issues are coming from the graphics driver. I cannot say exactly why or which driver solves the problem, because I am a Mac user, but I read a lot about these issues and it was always the graphics driver.

So even if you think you are up2date with your driver, check if there is another driver or option.

  2. Yes, I am referring to the image size and even if you think it has or should be 24mm there could be a problem when exporting the object as STL and importing into Cura. I have seen some STLs which have in Cura only 1mm or less and I was zooming in extremely to see the object. Something I need to scale up the object to 1000% to have in a proper size.

It depends on the CAD software you use or the designer has used. Sometimes they use different units (inches, mm) and then after export and import you get these very small objects in Cura.

There is also an option in Cura to scale up very small object during the import, but it never worked for me. You could also try to set the option in the preferences to "select the object after import" then you don't have to search for the object after import and you can go directly to the scale tool on the left and try what happens after you scale up it something bigger.

  3. Yes, it could help maybe with softer materials, but I don't know it. The softest material, I have ever used was TPU and this was no problem, also not for the UM3 feeder.

On the other hand, you would also have the e steps problem when changing the feeder. You can set the e steps with ssh into the printer and change the values there, but you have to do it everytime you make an update.

  4. I see no need to update the feeders from the S5 because they are great and a big upgrade from the UM3.

The S5 feeder gears are already hardened to print with abrasive materials and the lever to fully open the feeder tension is also a big advantage to the UM3 feeder.

What advantages do you expect to use the Bondtech on the S5?

    i noticed:

    - rotating the object 90 degrees seems to solve the problem

(did not try  smaller rotations or 180 rotation)

    - re-clising changed the location of the shift, not the ax

    - the problem occeurs often the layer before or after a change in design
(ie i had a keychain with cutout characters, the layer after the characters shifted or with a fanduct exactly at the end of a internal screw hole)

You have a problem with your printer hardware, loose belt, loose pulley or something like that. Check the tension of your belts, check if the belt itself is ok. I am sure you have some play on one axle and due to a direction change, the layer will be slightly shifted a little bit.

  6. For me, it looks like that the distance between bed and nozzle it to high and therefore the material will not be squished enough into the bed. Have you leveled your bed correctly?

What are your other settings? Line Width, Nozzle size, Layer Height, First layer Height? Would be much easier if you would post your Cura project here.

Do you see the problem already in the layer view in Cura?

  7. In the last months I tried several storage solutions for my the print cores, but either they didn't fit or it was not practical. Most storage solutions have the problem, that they are open and dust can easily get into the core which is not good at all.

Some days ago I had an idea, to put my print cores in an Ikea Skadis container mounted on my pegboard. Inside this container, I designed a print core holder which is based on @ultiarjan version and holds 3 cores per container.

    Here are some pictures:

The cores are now stored in a safe place, protected from dust and can be easily accessed.

And finally, the redesigned version which fits into the Skadis container:

  9. Ok I see, I also tried to add a UM2+ to my Cura and I have the same behavior. It is strange because with my UM2Go I can choose from several profiles, but the UM2 has no dropdown to select the nozzle.

I am out of ideas, but I am sure there is a way. Here are a lot of users with a UM2+ so, let's wait if some else jumps in with a hint.
