Strange noise from Robert's feeder....

Looks like your drivebolt is a bit dirty, there seems to be filament in between the teeth.

Sounds like there is stress on a certain part.

My first guess is your filament is grinding against something, or your wheel/bearing can't move freely.

Good luck!

Did it run successfully so far?

    Hey Sander :)

Yep it's running great the past few days. :D

    Except for the weird noise...

With "drive bolt" do you mean the knurled wheel of what exactly do you mean?

    thanks

You don't have to remove it, if you remove the filament and gain some access you could probably clean it with a cloth or your fingers.

I know, but I wanted to test if the spare knurled wheel made the same noise as my original one but the screw got stuck in the stepper motor :(

Unclip the feeder. Check the bearng moves free and isn't 'stuck'. Also check the screw it's touching the um2 box (the one that holds the bearing) because maybe the sound it's just something shaking with the feeder vibrations.

Could be the grommet vibrating. I'm not a big fan of the grommet version. I'm going to switch my printers back to the old way with a piece of bowden instead.

Not saying that's absolutely what it is, but I've heard the same noise on one of my printers after I "upgraded" to the grommet version. I've also had filament slip off the bearing which never happened in my earlier versions.

Okay I'll print the bowden version. :)

    Thanks for the tip @IRobertI!

@Neotko : I checked the bearing and it was turning smoothly. I'll do more tests. ;)

Mine has had the same noise. I depends on the speed its extruding. But I also thinks its from the grommet
