long printing time

Dear all

I am new user in 2+

I want to print something big and cura said it will spent more 20+ hours

Is that okay for long time printing? more than 20 hours

if not ok, can I stop it after 10 hours print and resume it?

it would be grateful if you can help me

20 hours is not unusual. I've seem some 100 hour prints. But I don't recommend it for a beginner. But you can try. You can speed it up by using a larger nozzle - say a .8mm nozzle with .8mm shell. You can also speed it up by doing .2mm layer height and only 20% infill. Or you can split it up into multiple parts if you are the person who designed it. Or you can just let it go for 20 hours. Don't leave the printer until it has printed the bottom 2cm successfully.

For long prints I also suggest hooking your printer up to unterruptable power supply (ups) like they use on computers. All it takes is on blink at hour 19 to ruin a print.

Yepp UPS are great. We have one here that saved long prints on more than one occasion.

I usually aim for 15 hr prints before I leave the office, so when I get in, I have a shiney new thing waiting for me. 20 hrs is no problem.

I've learned that slowing down the printer gives exceptional quality....and while it adds time, it beats a re-print.

A UPS Battery Backup is a good idea. You never know when the power might blip off and on, especially with summer thunderstorms!

The 2 and 2+ only officially support SDCard printing so that's more than likely what he will be using. They don't mean to use the UPS for a computer but for the printer.
