Dimensioned drawings of frame?

Recommended Posts

Posted · Dimensioned drawings of frame?

I have an Ultimaker 2+ Extended and I'd like to laser cut an acrylic cover for the top to prevent heat escape while working with ABS and also add a carbon filter. The challenge is I've not been able to find dimensioned drawings of the frame.

I've found plenty of downloadable versions of the frame for laser cutting, but nothing that includes dimensions. Specifically I need the widths/angles/radii of the upward facing tab-like structures at the center of the front, back, left, and right sides.

Thanks,

/Chris

    hi

I have them. as I've already made a perspex front for my machine. I'm in the process of getting all the files together & sharing the info on here..

edit .. my apologies I read your initial message wrong I have the front dimensions etc but not the top. although I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to measure

Why would you measure anything if the cad files are on GitHub? Many cad programs let you easily grab the faces of the .step model and save as dxf for example to use in your CNC software.... If you only need dimensions it's also easy to measure accurately in cad. Use f.e. the free fusion360.
