issues leveling

hey guys.

 

I rock the Ultimaker 2 connect . but i am having real issues getting it perfectly level due to the front right screw does not go any futher, thus leaving that side slightly closer to the nozzle and causing the issue you see in the pictures in every print i do.. it works , but id rather not have this isse. can you assisst ?

Okay that's weird - usually the problem is the other way where you can't loosen it any farther because you ran out of threads.

 

I'm guessing the screw head just touching the glass is spinning because the friction is too low.

 

You could slide the glass to the left a bit and if the screw head is spinning then use a tool to hold it still.

 

You could add a drop of loctite under the screw head such that it won't spin but you can still remove it some day if necessary.

The problem with the leveling procedure of the UM2+C is that the bed has a fixed start position where you begin to level. On the UM2+ you have the possibility to turn the wheel to bring the bed up or down before you do the fine tuning with the screws.

 

So if the advice from @gr5 isn't working, you can try to slightly bend the end stop switch of the bed in the back upwards, to bring the bed a little bit higher.

Okay so my last piece of advice is bad - tighten all 3 screws.  I'll remove that.  But the other 2 ideas should work?

nah the screw is not spinning, its not moving at all , its as tight as i can can get it but the bed wont come any lower on that side at all.

Okay something is wrong.  Remove the glass and investigate further.  Maybe the thread is stripped or crooked in the nut.  Remove the screw and nut and screw them together outside the printer and if that is fine put it back together.  The assembly isn't too complicated and pretty easy to take apart.

You should be able to get the bed MUCH lower.  Such that the spring is completely compressed with no air between the spiral.
