Ultimaker 3 , Printer head issue

Basically the printer head will not swap between cores,  it only stays on second core because it cant flip the switch, it doesnt slide into the notch it misses it and there fore cant print with 2 cores.  i have a ultimaker 3

First question, if you move the switch handle by hand, -does it go to both position.  Can nozzle 2 can stay in fully up and down position?

 

If the first question is answered No, the nozzle lift mechanism has failed. (This is a known issue.)

 

If the first question is yes, you'll need to re calibrate the nozzle switching procedure.

 

(Second question, -does not the automatic switch procedure go as it should?)

 

Re calibration of this switching "might" sometimes be a little tricky, but when you got it right it's really working well.

Yes if i manually move the switch it retracts the nozzle and leaves it retracted until i flip switch again.  the spring had popped out before but i put it back and there are no issues with the switch functioning correctly when used manually.

 

how do i re-calibrate the nozzle switching position....i didn't even know that was a thing!

(it does go to where it should , however it misses the notch and does not flip the switch.)
