When printing single wall wing tips for rc planes I get this wide spacing between layers as it goes around the curve of the wing tip.  Is there a fix for this in the Cura settings?

You're going to have to decrease the layer thickness or (probably preferable) see if you can change the orientation of the part to not have such a shallow angle on that top surface.

Thanks, IrobertI,  I did lower the layer thickness and that did help a lot.  It's not perfect but much better than it was.  This part will be a little heavier but it's a small part so it won't make a lot of difference.

geert2, RC plains need to be light weight.  They generally will hold together on steep turns and rough landings, but if you crash it will break like most other materials.  The glue seams are the weak link.

There is also an option to do variable layer thickness where it does thinner layers on surfaces like this.  The feature is called "adaptive layers".

Do you mind sharing your CAD file on your project? I have a future project of using wings on and underwater application. You can post the file on the forum and will try it on my S5....

    Thanks

Have you tried a .25 nozzle?

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
