Hi guys !

Im really delighted to announce that I will be presenting once again at Germanys largest 3D Print Technology Fair in Erfurt Germany this year.

Between the 15th and 17th of May, some of the biggest and most clever players in the 3D print revolution will be there in force.. eager to show off their latest and greatest new developments :-)

This year my Presentation is titled.

3D Printing - Widening the Spectrum of Creativity and Making Ideas Printable.

Your Imagination is the only barrier to unlimited creativity.. after that all you need is to make it printable

I am going to be going into some really good detail about how to best handle Arch models for 3d print and also.. interesting for all ultimaker users.. my development of my latest filament feeder system... films of the beast in use and discussing better methods of filament transfer and handling within a 3d printer... Iv been busy the last months ;-)

Should be exciting...

So everyone is invited and I hope to meet lots of you amazing people there !!

    Sounds cool. Worth a journey, I think. Which is the most interesting day? There aren´t that "many" speakers and one of them I have seen already two times... so I think one, max two days will be enough. This fair is part of the rapid tec, isn´t it?

    Anybody an idea where to find a good but affordable hotel in Erfurt? Never been there before. According to the website Ultimaker will also be represented. Will you guys be there or is it just iGo3D?

    Let´s see if I get a day or two off and we can drink a bear, Ian.

    Oh Ian, how I wish I could get there. Our own Daid a couple of hours before as well. But it's not going to be possible.

    I'll be in Munich in November for Electronica. Just wishing I could swap.

    Ah well!

    Don't know about the hotel, but I do know Daid will be at the show.

    For the rest it will be iGo3D.

    We would like to come but it is at the same time as Maker Faire San Francisco..

    I can 3D scan and print myself, but I am not sure how active my clone will be in Erfurt ;)

    Until bio 3D printing will make a huge leap forward I can only be at one place at the time unfortunately..

    Need to find a cheap place where I can rest for the night, let's have a look!

    I will probably be in the UK a couple of times this year.

    Are you planning on going to TCT / 3D Printshow?

    .. I wonder who spread that rumor :p

        In this stable release, Cura 5.3 achieves yet another huge leap forward in 3D printing thanks to material interlocking! As well as introducing an expanded recommended print settings menu and lots of print quality improvements. Not to mention, a whole bunch of new printer profiles for non-UltiMaker printers!

        The UltiMaker S7 is built on the success of the UltiMaker S5 and its design decisions were heavily based on feedback from customers.
         
         
        So what’s new?
        The obvious change is the S7’s height. It now includes an integrated Air Manager. This filters the exhaust air of every print and also improves build temperature stability. To further enclose the build chamber the S7 only has one magnetically latched door.
         
        The build stack has also been completely redesigned. A PEI-coated flexible steel build plate makes a big difference to productivity. Not only do you not need tools to pop a printed part off. But we also don’t recommend using or adhesion structures for UltiMaker materials (except PC, because...it’s PC). Along with that, 4 pins and 25 magnets make it easy to replace the flex plate perfectly – even with one hand.
         
        The re-engineered print head has an inductive sensor which reduces noise when probing the build plate. This effectively makes it much harder to not achieve a perfect first layer, improving overall print success. We also reversed the front fan direction (fewer plastic hairs, less maintenance), made the print core door magnets stronger, and add a sensor that helps avoid flooding.
         

         
        The UltiMaker S7 also includes quality of life improvements:
        Reliable bed tilt compensation (no more thumbscrews) 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi A 1080p camera (mounted higher for a better view) Compatibility with 280+ Marketplace materials Compatibility with S5 project files (no reslicing needed) And a whole lot more
