Is there also a change in the feeder mechanism for the Original+?
Any pictures available?
Thanks and have a nice day on Makerfaire

There are some wooden changes so you cannot get your fingers stuck in between the gears. Other then that, it's the same.
Also, I'll fix the 1.5.7 electronics requirement on Monday. As I think that's wrong for the upgrade kit, I do not see why it cannot work on a 1.5.4 or maybe 1.5.3 (but not sure what's the state of 1.5.3 as they are where not produced a lot)
It was nice to meet some of you at MakerFaire. The event was great. I hope everyone had fun.
I didn't see George at the Faire but did find him in Time Square:
Yep - It was awesome meeting George, Simon, and all the folks from Ultimaker! I had a great time and will definitely go back again every year!

Apparently I missed all you guys :/ was out filming.
I did see whoever it was with an Ultimaker hat though that was epic.
pm_dude! I missed you :(
Did I give you my cell phone number? I thought I did. Oh well. Unlike past events I only spent half my time at the booth.
I feel like I saw about 10 people from the forums. And lots of people that I heard about but didn't know were coming and saw lots of cool new ideas and printers. LIke a 5 color 3d printer that uses the "shield" method (that cura also uses) but pauses all 5 nozzles outside the shield while it cools down one nozzle and heats up the next then wipes both nozzles off on the shield on the way back in. This adds 30 seconds per color per layer to the print but the results are impressive.
I saw so many people! I saw so much stuff! I plan to put a short (hopefully < 1 minute) video together of the hundreds of things I saw (yes, that's less than 1 second for each thing!) and I'll post a link to it on this topic.
Okay - here's a teaser from a video:
Yeah I even texted you and got no answer.
Anyway. I have some Carbon Fiber filament from Printed Solid to test. I'm only sad not to have seen any 3D Paper Printer. Moving the Ultimaker booth was pretty funny. The place that the map shown Ultimaker was actually used by Makerbot and they were over crowded with people wanting goodies in a tiny spot. Took me a while to find the Ultimaker booth.
I guess I'll have to go to another event to meet with more people

Did they have a special fan for cooling down? I think Marlin supports such a fan. I tried something similar with my dual extrusion UMO. It worked, but it took extremely long to cool down the nozzle. You maybe recall my Ultimaker robot with the Swiss cross. It took 6 hours to print it with this strategy. I think it's not the solution.

Actually our booth was supposed to be right behind theirs.
But the MF put us in a place with a tent that was too small, and a downhill field of grass... -.-
After some discussing and looking for a solution they placed us at the MakerShed.
Which turned out to be a great spot.
The only downside was that people expected to find us at the 3D printing village..
(which makes sense obviously..) however we got pleeeeeenty of traffic.

 :-P - After 5 hours! But it was fine. New location much better.
Did they have a special fan for cooling down?
Even better - water/glycol mixture:

Even with the cooling/heating *outside* the shield... even with 30 extra seconds per color per layer - it still had a little bit of the wrong color mixed in with the other colors. But it was pretty good.

The yellow in the twirl is quite messy. But the settup is pretty impressive.
Also on another topic there was BuildTak for bed adhesion. Cold or Heated. I didn't see much but it might interest some with the cold bed.
Thanks for the image. Indeed not bad quality. I have to think about the dual extrusion on my UMO again...
It was great meeting many of you for the first time and seeing some of you again. I was really surprised by how many people from this forum introduced themselves. Such a great community!
Pretty psyched about all the announcements and managed to pick up a UM1 heated bed upgrade kit for myself.
Hey Matt,
It was nice to meet you. I just tested the Carbon Fiber PLA I got from you at MF.
Rough finish, very nice light reflection, less dense than regular PLA, it float on water.
Its a little more stiff than PLA but not as resistant. On that side I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping for a little more resistant material.
None the less the Carbon Fiber PLA is a nice filament.
Here's my 3 minute video of some of the highlights at makerfaire nyc including some ultimaker people taking the booth down at the end:
Jerry from barnacules nergasm is visible at 2:23 filming the giraffe. He was at the Ultimaker booth pretty much the whole time. This is only a tiny slice of the event - I only videoed things that had music or were moving in an impressive way. Sometimes I was so blown away I forgot to make a video. For example they exploded cereal and then let us eat it. Out of a kind of oven/gun. Into a large plexiglass room. I learned how to pick locks. There were soldering classes. There was just... so damn much going on!
did I see Aran with the amazing beard help the ultimaker guys setup ?
Thanks a million for the super video George !!!
Ian :-)
Well someone else posted this video and it includes I think everyone starting at 5m28 to 6m21s (the link will jump you there):
I arrived the next day so I'm not in his first video.
'..following this sander guy '... pfff. Like we didn't have a great dinner and drinks.
Aaron turned out to be an incredibly helpful guy. For example he was always the one to climb under those massive white/blue/pink displays and hook up the power with the edge of the thing hovering over his neck while 4 guys tilted it and held it in place. And his stories (true stories) had me laughing so hard! Oh my goodness!
You guys! You gave me 5 likes on the forum but zero (ZERO!) likes on youtube. :(
