Until you get the official answer, I can tell you that 150mm/s is indeed the correct travel speed for the S5. The reason for the lower value (compared to e.g. an Ultimaker 3) is the heavier print head. As the product aims at professional customers, Ultimaker has decided to give safe values the priority over speed.

@CarloK may that testing version brick the printer? Can one switch back to the normal 5.2.11 after testing?
-
The reason is simple: lack of time. TweakAtZ was maintained for quite some time by community members (including me) before the Cura team took it over. However, I think there are more pressing things to be changed in Cura than expanding the functionality of the ChangeAtZ script as it is called now.
Good news is that Cura and therefore this script too is open source and anyone can make changes and issue a pull request on Github. So please feel free to contribute such a code. But please be aware the script is experimental and does not work well on some Ultimaker printers.

Yes, but only for that update as the firmware team removed that check again in 5.2.11.

I'm getting the same error "Failed to verify firmware update.". Tried both via Internet and USB.
Currently on 5.2.8.20190320 attempting to update to 5.2.11.20190503
Any ideas?
Please just read the posts above. They answer your question.

Speeds are per-object settings so you should be able to have 3 objects built at the same time with different speeds.

I have a related question about ironing. Does ironing apply to the top layer of support? Is there a simple way to apply ironing only to support?
Not directly but if you design your own support as an object you can load that into Cura, assign it to the extruder with the support material and then enable ironing for that extruder. Of course you will have to disable support in Cura.

@link the S5 shows the firmware number of the final step for both steps.

Which step of the update did you have a problem with? The intermediate step or the final version?

No they don't fit. The hardcore nozzles are longer.
Uhm, the other way round 😉

The printer will refuse to load a AA 0.25 with PVA for good reasons. So BB 0.4 it is.

I think you already found the best workaround. But please feel free to make such a feature request and please let us know here so people can support it.

You wait forever until a single layer of PVA dissolves below a flat surface. I tried it once with a small area and waited more than a day although the water in the box was in motion. If you do it, put the glass in the freezer first, take the print away and then dissolve it. Having said this, you can also put the glass into the freezer with the Tough PLA printed directly on it. 😉

Simply use a thin layer of glue stick. It gives you a very well defined adhesion.

No it won't. As we have learned rolling back is not always easy, users may install it not knowing it is a testing version, or worst case scenario.. what if it would actually break something. We wouldn't want to risk that.
Then testing versions are generally unlikely to happen in future?
-
@SandervG will that new version be made available as testing version? It might improve bug finding efficiency.
-
It worked for me too with "every week". The only setting that IS different is "Never" which now turns active leveling completely off (to be manually leveled properly).

Nimm doch mal das PLA Profil und setze die Temperatur 5 Grad rauf.

Maybe a stainless steel nozzle?

Although you consider the possibilty of your error 18 not to be related to the firmware upgrade as small I think that indeed they just accidentally popped up around the same time.
Please check the forum here for error 18 related topics. Unfortunately, I do not have a link at hand right now. Re-mounting the print head cable on the print head solves the promlen in almost every case.

Please try:
- Cura Connect reset, if no change
- Factory reset
What firmware version is on that printer?

Please try a Cura Connect reset.
New UM2+ style printer?
in UltiMaker 3D printers

@ultiarjan has a good point with 2nd hand machines. If you want to buy it from a more official point, look out for refurbished printers. In Europe, some distributors offer this and FBRC8 in the US does it as well.
Why would you not buy an Ultimaker 2+ even when in a year or two a successor would come out? If the printer offers what you need, then it's a good deal. If it doesn't you should also not buy it later. Does that make sense for you?
