  1. When I'm on the YouMagine site my message indicator (top right) shows that I have 2 messages. But when I click it to look at them there are none :-( This is already like this for a long time, I discovered it just before a major update (the one with the beta site) and had hoped the update would reset the counter. I forgot it after that until now.
  2. Those roses look familiar :-) they look great in that vase. Working on a rose project for someone special myself, printing them slow, 5 hours for two.
  3. If you want to sell your designs both YouMagine and Thingiverse are the wrong place to publish. These sites are for sharing free designs.
  4. @GR5: and I have spend a lot of time in the US for my work, you tend to pickup things if you hangout somewhere for several months ;-) The saying popped into head, as I said it was late ;-)
  5. Guess I need to start working on my id tag ;-) But with so many other things needing attention it might just be a paper one. See you all there and since this one does not sound so scarry (in hindsight last one was neither) I will see if I can borrow father's car to bring my precious along :-)
  6. Looks like I'm going to spend a weekend in England too, Saturday for 3D printing show in London and Sunday meeting a dear friend in Cambridge. The hunt is on for cheap flight and hotel (for as far as possible in London ;-) ). Anyone decide on a pub for the evening yet?
  7. Then let's hope for some thing: Old: Ultimaker original, to mount... New: heated bed for above Pink: as in pink unicorn Cura Borrowed: our time to listen ;-) Sorry for order mixup it's late and I should be sleeping ;-) The shift to pink was intentional though.
  8. Sorry, your right gr5, was just assuming it was a markerfair. Will have to check my facts better next time. But is still true is that UM will be present there.
  9. NYC is a bit far for me, but maybe I'm going to the London Markerfair (Sep 4 to 6) and see if UM has a sneak preview there
  10. My first guess would be right down the middle between the eyes. The teeth still would need support but that would be on the inside of the mouth. But even with that it looks like an extremely difficult print using FFD technology.
  11. I think a Peltier element on works well if the ambient temperature hot side is relative cool. In this case that side is already above at least 160 celcius.
  12. I doubt if you will ever be able to make a satisfactory print of this on a Ultimaker (or any FFD printer), Maybe something for a monthly challenge ;-)
  13. As with all in life you get what you pay for. But so far I'm satisfied with what I got.
  14. If I understand Daid right the problems many seem to have (I'm either to slow or only work with simple objects) in the GUI don't go away if you stop recalculated tool path every time you change a setting.
  15. You don't need to wait until the whole toolpath is generated again, just ignore the toolpath generation and make any changes as if it was not there. The toolpath generator is a separate background process that is running on the lowest priority which should not hinder anything else you do in Cura. For that reason you have to make a very strong case before the lead developer of Cura would even consider implementing you feature request.
  16. Don't think you will be able to make a working smaller version without being able to keep the tolerances between the gears to a reasonable value, so in this case I would say customize away. PS: don't forget to make the central axis hole smaller or the central gear will have no body (parameter w, width of the hexagonal hole).
  17. You better use the Customizer to make a smaller version, so you can keep the 0.25mm gap (tolerance) between the gears. Edit: unless you have a crazy accurate printer, then by all means give scaling a try ;-)
  18. I don't blame the breaking of the filament on the stock feeder but want to to install |Robert|'s feeder and having to fiddle with the filament seemed like a good moment. :-)
  19. Started a bit ambitious at 2cm outer diameter and 0.1 tolerance for first try, did not really work out, think I better start bigger on both values and first tune printer settings before I go smaller again. :-) Edit: Damn. on second try filament broke so it is extruding air at the moment. :-( Well maybe good time to finally install |Robert|'s feeder ;-)
  20. I was just playing around with the SCAD of the gear bearing (original one with just Emmet's monogram, which I already changed to mine ;-) ) So... Print Vote: smallest 'working' Gear Bearing.
  21. Been wanting to print one these |Robert| feeders for a while now, but the heat, work. a little flooding (during very heavy rain) in my bedroom I have not come around to it. Maybe tonight is a good time to start :-) Have a nice white roll of PLA just waiting to be used.
  22. There are no dumb questions only dumb answers... And welcome :-)
