en voorzover je dit nog niet hebt gevonden, kijk eens naar deze links;

I'd say depending on who's skin colour.... colorfabb has a few more....

I used a blowtorche a few times, also pushed some pla trough a few times while cleaning with the blowtorch (when its still hot). Did not do any polishing after this, printed fine again even though the inside looks black (not saying polishing isn't a good thing, just did not do it myself).
I use a grip vice + glove to hold the hotend.

Friends, wish you all the best for the new year :-P happy printing !!!
My good intentions for 2015;
- Learn about scanning (when I finally get my ordered Fuel3D)
- Learn how to model non-mechanical parts (scans)
- Build a printer
..... and some other projects ...

also have a look here... the trick to unlock step files in DSM;

But you'll probably end up with a thin strand of wrong colored fillament left in the bowden/feeder .... a feeder you can open is just so much easier ...
-
just checked the UM2 step file for my own curiosity ... also 18 mm
-
Strange. .. When you do an atomic for cleaning do it directly at the head. Remove the bowden at the head side... can't imaginge you'll have loose pieces of pla after this...

I see you still need to mount some led strips in the kossel

not at home atm, but here's the STEP file, the complete UM2 drawing.
use your CAD software or download Design Spark Mechanical to open it.

@ultibrain; looks good, unfortunately I can't get the video to play ...
If you could share you build experience and the BOM someday .. would be appreciated. I hope to start building one myself sometime this year but still in doubt between a UM clone or a delta.

Bijvoorbeeld;
https://www.youmagine.com/designs/alternative-um2-feeder-version-two
https://www.youmagine.com/designs/and-another-um2-feeder-design

@ultibrain, I assume you checked that the actual temperature of the e3d is correct ?

I usually use 3d text from sketchup. Super easy. Save as sketchup 8 and import in dsm. The only thing i use sketchup for.
-
I see you can just replace them... you could also cut them in 2 and use precice spacers between each to get good alignment.
do you have any good link to learn about tolerances & material quality etc... was looking at link below, how to compare with your misumi, and the quality of f.e the UM2 shafts ?

Jonny, just thinking, wouldn't it be handy to make these rod bearing plates in 2 separate pieces, so you have more flexibility in the belt length to use ?
-
Quick question - if I upgrade my firmware will I loose my custom material settings ?
Would advice to update anyhow as the new firmware lets you save your settings to SD, alter them on your PC and load them back, so you can now give logical names to your material profiles (PLA, FLEX, etc...)

Yes. This is big difference between the UMO and the UM2. The UM2 oozes less, but because of that, it also as lower maximum flow right now. (UM2 usually has a limit around 6-8mm^3/s, while a well adjusted UMO usually handles 10-12mm^3/s)
This is only true I suppose with the stock feeder, with my feeder I print 0.2 all the time with no issue at all ....

When you export and adapt the txt file on sd card and you want to keep a back up of the original file dont just rename it but remove it from the sd. Otherwise it will still read the old file at import (when i changed it to copy-material.txt i think)
Besides this funny feature it works super!

damn, the truth can be tough.
thats the clearest message on dual printing i've seen all year.
