Filament Length & Weight

Hello,

I started using Cura 15.06.03. I can see the estimated material length required for the print. Is there a way to learn the weight as well?

You should tell us - don't be lazy please. Google it or start with this fact and you can do the math yourself:

PLA is 1.25 grams per cubic mm - please let us know how many grams per meter of 3mm filament.

Looking at my last roll of colorfabb PLA it says 750 gram / 90 meters, so roughly 8,3 gram per meter... XT black : 750 grams / 100 meters

It was there in 15.02 and before. In the preference you could set the weight of filament and it would show you the mass in gram next to the filament length. Default was 1.2 in previous cura version like mentioned by Gr5.

For the full length of a spool it depends on your filament diameter and the type of filament you use. Some are 1.2g/cm3 others 1.3 and some go up to 3.9 (bronze fill).

If you use 2.85mm filament then there is 6.38 cm3 per meter of filament.

Yes you can. New cura has plugins! So if it doesn't have a feature that you want, you can add them.

The length, recommend temperature (even for the heated bed) is written on a label on the filament. The length isn't, I will forward that as feedback!
