Ultimaker 3 APP camera feed working, but cannot connect to printer.

Recommended Posts

I tried to control my Ultimaker 3 with the app, but I have trouble connecting.

When I open the Ultimaker 3 app the printer shows .

When I click the printer I can see the camera stream.

But when I click 'connect to this Ultimaker 3' it does say that the printer is not connected.

Both devises are on the same Wifi network

My phone is Samsung Galaxy S7 edge

I have no problem with controlling the Ultimaker 3 via Cura on Windows

How can I solve this?

I'm not certain but I don't think the app is supported anymore. You might be stuck with using a browser, or the features inside of cura (you can for example see what the camera sees from any web browser including one on a tablet or phone and I think it's higher resolution than if you do it through cura).

I am having the exact same problem until the last update everything seemed to be working fine and i am fairly certain the app hasn't been discontinued because it is still listed on the main products page and if the app has been discontinued i haven't heard anything about it also that would be a real shame because i used the app a lot anyway i really do hope they bring it back or fix it.

Hey! I don't know if anyone is still following this but I found a workaround for this!! It is the NFC. That sounds strange but after months of troubleshooting this exact issue on my Galaxy S8+. It disconnects as soon as the printer recognizes any filament NFC chip.

Select the filament manually and see if that works for you. It works for me immediately.  Firmware updates only seem to fix it for me temporarily.

Q: For some users, abrasive materials may be a new subject matter. Can you explain what it is that makes a material abrasive when you are not sure which print core to use?
A: Materials which are hard in a solid piece (like metals, ceramics and carbon fibers) will generally also wear down the nozzle. In general one should assume...

Designing for light-weight parts is becoming more important, and I’m a firm believer in the need to produce lighter weight, less over-engineered parts for the future. This is for sustainability reasons because we need to be using less raw materials and, in things like transportation, it impacts the energy usage of the product during it’s service life.
