The splash screen just never goes away, the loading spinner is frozen and it says "Initializing package manager..."
I've tried restarting my computer, installing the latest version (5.2.1), uninstalling old versions, etc. Still does the same thing every time.

    Hey @rabbit1210,

Welcome to the Ultimaker Community 🎉
Sorry to hear you are stuck.

I have a couple of questions to narrow it down.

    1. Do you have multiple monitors? Does Cura start if you disable one of the monitors?
    2. Do you have GPU Tweak OSD overlay enabled? Does Cura start if you disable that software?
    3. Do you have a Ryzen Graphics card? Can you try this workaround? https://support.makerbot.com/s/article/1667412437627
    4. Do you have the Nahimic audio enhancement service enabled? Can you try this workaround? https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues/12102#issuecomment-1157907665

    1. Only 1 monitor
    2. No GPU Tweak installed

    3. I have Radeon Graphics on my laptop, but I tried the solution at the provided link anyways. For step 7 the 2 options I have are "AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics" and "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with Max-Q Design".  I tried both but Cura still doesn't open with either one.
    4. Do not have Nahimic

Also try turning off/pausing all security software for a moment to see if that is blocking execution.  Some people have also had luck instead "running as admin" because somehow the install ended up putting some critical files in a protected folder.

No security software installed, just what's built into Windows. Running as Administrator doesn't work either.

I had the same problem, I appear to have solved it by adjusting my 3D settings to force my high performance graphics card to be used by default.  In this case opening the nvidia control panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Global Settings -> Preferred Graphics Card = High Performance NVIDIA Processor

I suppose perhaps creating a profile specifically for Cura might work too.

Did anyone ever find a fix for this? I have the same problem with 5.2.2 on windows 11.

@travisty22 - The fix for me was disabling a second screen temporarily, then relaunching.

Right-click desktop > Display settings > Show only on 1 (or 2, if screen 1 is the problematic one).

This fixed the problem for me! Thank you so much.

A more "permanent" fix for me was to:

Open Cura and move it to whatever monitor it should always open on. In Cura, go to:

Preferences > Configure Cura > General, uncheck the "Restore window position on start" checkbox. Close and reopen with both screens to test. Note: Opening saved project files will still open on another screen, so just open Cura > File > Open File instead.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
