  1. I'll give these a try, thanks!

  2. That has more power than you need. The um2go doesn't come with a heated bed so you can use a lower value power supply. Actually I sell heated beds for um2go and you still don't need to upgrade the power supply (there's a trick if you want to use the smaller power supply and also a heated bed). Anyway, here is the official power supply part information: company: Mean Well part number; GS120A24-R7B If you are in USA I recommend digikey.com. $50. Her school likely has the power supply. They just lost it. Maybe she can find it? Google it to see what it looks like.

  3. Its an error after installation when I try to run it. I am on an older version of windows so I will address that and see where it gets me. Thank you for the replies

  4. Out of curiosity: who is this "we"? I mostly see you saying this. Cura 5.4 works fine for my prints. That does not mean that it does not have any bugs, but those bugs don't warrant a "don't use 5.4" response on every unrelated issue people run into.

  5. It means that the printer is actively connected to Cura and you can send gcode files to it (as opposed to a printer that is not connected and you have to manually transfer a gcode file to it).

  6. Just to be safe (and reduce the chance of losing your files in case this doesn't work - I haven't had this problem so I can't try it) instead of deleting it, try moving it to a place Cura will never look for it (like My Documents) so you can restore it if need be.

  7. Hey @Cuq and @Aldo, I was under the impression that the nightlies were hidden until we had a changelog, instructions, and a theme in place. Must have been a mistake. Let me doublecheck with the team.

  8. Is this an error during the installation process, or when you try and run it for the first time? It looks like the latter. I would suggest: Use an uninstaller program designed to search for and clean up leftovers (I like Bulk Crap Uninstaller, free and open source) to uninstall any Cura installations you might have and clean up the leftovers. Delete the installer program you have and download it again (in case it's corrupt or something). Instead of just running the installer, go to the folder it's in, right click on it and click Run as administrator. The installer will usually ask for admin rights anyway, but this way you can be sure it does. Then just go through the install as normal. Do whatever ritual you have that brings luck and open Cura.

  9. Sounds like your likely on a older version of windows? Make sure you are on supported version: https://support.ultimaker.com/s/article/1667337917781

  10. No, they explain 5 reasons why you are wrong. Number 1 isn't a work around, just common sense. Number 3 is not telling the software to delete your stuff. Soooo, like option 3? Because I need the log file in order to help. But please, continue explaining how calling someone a fucktard is constructive or good for the community. I'm still hoping to get an answer from you ❤️ While you're at it, it seems that you also know a way to solve this so that I don't have to always ask for logs. I'd love to hear it!

  11. That is not true. You have the following options: 1. Use the built in backup plugin 2. Create manual backups 3. Don't select "remove previous versions of Cura and all profiles" 4. Recover profiles from project files 5. Recover profiles from g-code The download / usage data that we get suggests otherwise. I think that most of them simply use option 3. Luckly we have those. Thanks for the suggestion though! My sincere apologies for my inability to debug issues without any information provided what so ever. I've tried to train my mind reading skills, but i've had little to no success with that. So for the time being, I will need log files to act as a crutch. Also, do you think that calling people tards (which I assume is short for retard) is something that is beneficial to the community? Can you explain to me how that helps? It's the first time that I've heard this strategy being promoted, but I've only been in open source communities for the past 9 years or so, so it's possible that I still have some things to learn!

  12. Curse me and my SD card shuttling for not knowing the correct answer. Previous printer I had, aaaaaaaaages ago would only print over USB, so the novelty of the autonomy factor hasn't run out.
