  1. I was lucky that I'm one of the beta testers of the color XT, so I know a bit how the material prints. Adding color to a material influences the print properties a bit so threat this color XT as a slightly new material with no comparison with the regular XT. Can you provide me the gcode file you have used, I'll give it a try at my UM1 this evening.
  2. Hello Arjan, It should, at my tests with 4 colors I get a very good adhesion. What was your layer height? Did you use the fan's and at what speed? Try to minimize the use of fan, normally, when the minimum layer time is higher then 7 seconds, I set the fan speed at max 25%, when the minimum layer time is more then 10 seconds I set the fan's off entirely.
  3. Hello Arjan, I probably don't have to tell you, but the faster you print, the higher the temperature. At 10mm3/s you'll need a minimum of 255 C but indeed, be careful with the UM2 PFTE. I've managed to print at 10mm3/s at 255 C and up to 260 C which had very good results, but I don't have to worry about a PFTE because of my non UM standard hot-end. About the adhesion to glass (and aluminium), use a glue stick or Kapton tape with a bed temp of 60 to 70 C. Personally I use Kapton tape on a cheap Ikea mirror for all my prints, PLA, ABS, Nylon and XT.
  4. Dank voor de tip Sander, we gaan kijken :-)
  5. I'll collect some of my drawings this weekend and drop you a PM....
  6. I'm using your design all the time Robert, works like a charm! When I change a spool, I switch it from the old spool right onto the new one. Especially with PET which attract dust a little more then regular PLA..
  7. Unfortunately I only draw in 3D metric CAD software, sculpting is not something I'm good at. You can add me to your list for future requests, do you want some images from drawings I made to judge if it is good enough?
  8. I had the intention to post a picture of a simple print with XT yellow, but after the post of Alex_3D I don't have the guts anymore.......... :???:
  9. Net gekeken in Slic3r waarmee ik ook regelmatig slice, deze heeft ook niet de gewenste functie :-(
  10. Each makes its own assessment of whether the price is worth it or not. I'm only saying you cannot compare 2 different materials only based on cm3 and price, but that's my opinion, I do respect yours.
  11. Two different types of filament cannot be compared with each other based solely on the weight, that's not a fair comparison to my opinion.
  12. While the price is indeed at the higher end, the quality and specs are very good. Compared with PLA and ABS, it combines the best of both worlds, so easy to print with while the parts are very strong en tough.........
  13. For anyone interested, colored XT is now available! http://colorfabb.com/xt-copolyester
  14. My settings are the first layer of 0.3mm, 2 layers of 0.15mm... I also use an heated bed and kapton tape on my UM1, XT (transparent and colored) does indeed not attach well on glass without glue.
  16. Really insane project, this is going to be made in the winter by me! Thank you Valcrow for sharing!
  17. They would indeed, with the new colored XT from ColorFabb they won't break as fast as PLA.......
  18. Sorry Ian, no lamp found with the given colors   And unfortunately there are not prints but an image from the web, just to show what is possible to make......
  19. Most of them are, some of the puzzle pieces are scaled up or down
  20. I hope you don't mind Lennart : Here it is Dirkels: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:75582 I've made several of these lamps, 2 tips: don't make the lamp too small if you're using PLA, it will crack during time; Use LED lights because of the heat of a normal light. Some impressions:
  21. Not to nitpick, It is Eastman who made the tests, not ColorFabb, they will release the results because of the collaboration with Eastman.. ColorFabb just don't have the equipment for it otherwise they made the test themselves.....
  22. That's why colorFabb developed XT, it print just as fine as PLA with no fumes while printing and has the properties of ABS: low-shrinkage, high impact strength, high tensile strength, good bondage between layers, glass transition of 70 degrees.
