  1. Thanks for onfirming my (unwritten) assumption :-) Already got an similar answer from Watterott - I´ll use them and we will see. Had some troubles with more sensitive parts in future where the packing was damaged, so safety first :-) I will post my experience as soon I have time to upgrade...
  2. Got my SSS today but ... I´m such an idiot... I ordered 4 of them but have 2 extruders beside XYZ... so one too less... DAMN... Next issue: one of them came with a damaged ESD packaging... so we´ll see if I have to claim it or not... :(
  3. @ nallath, could you just confirm that the beta will be published in the usual "closed beta" area?
  5. Standard? Metric is the standard ;)I did make a barbarian to standard conversion plugin. you can find it on https://github.com/nallath/BarbarianPlugin. Hahaaaa.. great... I love such conversations :-) Looking hardly forward to see a beta as I would need the dual nozzle support for several projects for PVA... I assume that the beta will be published in the usual "closed beta" area - isnt?? nevertheless, count me in...
  6. I had also a tough time to accept the fee but finally ordered 4 of them a few minutes ago to make my UMO shhhhhh... :-) Which heatsink / heat pad have you used??? I ordered this one: http://www.watterott.com/de/Stiftkuehlkoerper-quadratisch-ICK-S-10-x-10-x-125 hope this is ok... but any hint appreciated :-)
  9. Also ich bin begeistert....
  11. Yes, I had to contact my local distributor and luckily got a spare one. Now everything is up again and my UMO works as perfect as on the first day :-)
  12. I found nice tutorials which might help... https://grabcad.com/questions/tutorial-how-do-you-use-solidworks-design-tables-to-create-parametric-smart-parts or http://help.solidworks.com/2013/English/SolidWorks/sldworks/c_Design_Table_Configurations.htm?id=e605ac38b82a4823a41f6aea2fd77bed#Pg0&ProductType=&ProductName=
  13. That´s also the way I usually design screws for 3D-print in SolidWorks - unfortunately a workaround. I need it seldom so I had no time up to now to make a parametrized library object...
  14. Good to hear - really waiting hard for it. Would be great to have a possibility to get a first view/trial despite the performance issues... Please keep us updated!
  15. Nallath, you mentioned some time ago that in january there might be a release also incormporating dual extrusion support... do you have any news on this??
  16. hmmm... good question... My shroud is the nearest PLA to the beam and up to now I have no bad experience.
  17. Well done! I was not aware that JTech now offers such a professional stuff :-) I got the idea for hooking up a laser to my printer basically from him, but also merged some input from L-Cheop, EmbLaser and others into my solution - but the PWM controll is VERY nice so it´s worth thinking of an order...
  18. More than 1,5 years left until I hooked up the servo. Just for our records: NOW it works :-) Marling FW version from 06/2014, enhanced with the code from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:225584, servo hooked to Pin13 and addressed via M280 P0 S0 up to S180 code... So finally mission accomplished :-)
  19. GREAT WORK !!! Congratulation! Which SW have you used for gcode generation? But... please do me a favor and add some protection. would be a shame if somehing happens with your or somebody else eyes...
  20. Hi all, finally I got all the tings together and put them on youmagine Her you´ll find my design for the clip-on laser head and the electronics. Disclaimer: build on your own risk - I´m not responsible for any damage at you, your stuff or your wife :-) https://www.youmagine.com/designs/umo-laser-head
  21. Currently I redesign the "shield" which is placed between the laser itself and the cutting plate. It's more or less a tube which prevents to look at the beam and also assists in air directing but unfortunately I´m terribly sunk in work in office so progress is verrrrry limited... I will start uploading the printable parts which are finalized up to now to youmagine soon. Schematics I have to update as there were a few "hands on" changes, but they will follow too...
  22. Sorry, it seems this page is not available. I would recommend to buy the laser at DTR's Laser Shop (that´s the Laser I bought https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes/9mm-445nm) Maybe it´s my personal attitude, but for this risky stuff I would use a trusted source...
