Hi !

For a specific project, I need to print an object that fits in a volume of 210.8 x 200.2 x 195.5 mm.

For this project, I use an infill of 3% (triangles)

I need to position the fill on the axis of the object to reinforce some parts.

Problem: I can't move the object sideways to make it coincide with the infill.

Can you introduce the possibility of moving the X/Y origin of the infill?

Thank You !

David

(Excuse my bad "Google" English)

note : title change from "CURA Infill origin" to CURA Infill origin alias "Infill Shift"

That's a very important future feature in order to guarantee similar mechanical properties in the same models that are placed in different positions on the print bed.

Like the zscar that now have the option to "Z Seam Relative", a similar approch could be implemented to the infill.

@daid : "Infill is calculated with the front left corner as "center" point. (as that is actually 0,0) So the grid is rotated around that point."

Why not model the infill, based on the infill settings and use it as infill mesh?

So just model a triangle infill with the same settings (distances, width of walls). Add it to the plate, per model settings, infill mesh. Then just place it in the wanted position.

I have tried this with some custom infill and it works.

    Next Beta ?

We'll see, it all depends on whether the PRs are acceptable to the Cura guardians or not. Even if they are basically in favour, changes always seem to be required. Chill.

This is of course not a priority but it is really an important function, and not just for me!

You would have to compile CuraEngine from source. This is no trivial undertaking. The alternative is to wait for a beta that includes the feature.

    This function looks awesome!

Are there any nightly builds so people without coding knowledge (like me) can test it?

Sorry, you will have to wait until a beta of the next release is produced. Hopefully, this new feature will be merged by then.
