UMS5 how to take the printed part out

HI All,

 

I gave a 3D print on Ultimaker S5, kindly refer below pic wherein you will see that cura did not pick any supporting material, it is printing on PLA blue only. 

I was just wondering how to take this print out of the glass.

 

so far, on other prints there was initial layers of PVA natural supporting material, once the 3D print is done, I would immerse the print along with glass into the water and after few hours the parts comes out easily. but in this scenario where there is no supporting material, and main PLA blue material is sticked to the glass, now I do not know how to take the part out of the glass.

You don't need a support material to remove the object from the glass, the object comes loose as soon as it cools down. If not you can use a spatula to remove it from the glass.

 

Support material or PVA is mainly used to support overhangs in your model, but not as a general bottom layer.

 

I also highly recommend to apply a thin layer of glue stick on the glass to give a better adhesion for PLA and to protect your glass when you use other materials like ABS, ToughPLA,....

Yeah as Smithy says, once it's cool it should come off.  I'm not an Ultimaker guy but provided the glass comes out you can stick the glass with the part on it into your refrigerator to hurry things along.  Then it's just an edge tap or two with a thin putty knife or a spatula.
