  1. In some models the slicer runs out of memory and will tell you "something went wrong during slicing".
  2. That's kinda the downside of a raft, but printing ABS without a heated bed on an UM is almost impossible without a raft. If you want more control, don't use quickprint.
  3. This is what we're using right now. Designed by Martijn.
  4. ABS quickprint always enables a raft. That's what you are seeing.
  5. The printing interface in Cura does allow some direct control. If you want more control then that I suggest PrintRun and not RepG. (RepG should crawl in a corner and die)
  6. Works from here, and you where already asking other questions about it.
  7. You'll have to enable the heated bed in the preferences first, and then restart Cura. And it's 12.11 not 12.1
  8. You can already do this if you load a model and press print. If there was a gcode file with the model it will print it.
  9. I wouldn't try it. The V1 nozzle is longer, and you might end up with a short piece of brass inside of your heater block when you try to remove it.
  10. There could be something wrong with your Arduino. You say the initial tests worked, which means it can connect to your machine (because the printing interface is using the same code to connect as the initial tests) Also, the "something went wrong" is usually the Linux64bit bug, which means you have to replace the pypy in Cura with 64bit pypy. (Linux is the underdog in Cura support at the moment)
  11. Note that I released 12.11 which fixes the print button bug. PrintRun in Cura was a temp solution. So that will be gone forever from Cura. You can always install PrintRun from Kliment if you like it.
  12. self._log("Unexpected error while writing serial port: %s" % (getExceptionString())) That's the interresting part. You're getting an exception the software is trying to write to the serial port. Maybe your USB is flaky. Does dmesg tell you anything?
  13. The hotend is leaking, could be a gap between the nozzle and the brass part. Make sure the nozzle is screwed in tightly. As well as the brass being screwed in tightly. Your hotend needs to be hot to do this, as it will break otherwise. If this doesn't work you could put in some teflon plummer tape on the treads to seal it. Shouldn't be needed with your V2 hotend, but it sealed up V1 hotends quite good.
  14. It's a mechanical problem. You have backlash somewhere, most likely short or long belts.
  15. It's almost twice as expensive. And less open. They do have a good marketing. But there is no reason why both the Replicator 2 and the Ultimaker can exist side by side.
  16. Uhm, they released it quite a while ago. I've seen one on the MiniMakerfaire in Groningen, It was producing lower quality prints then the Ultimaker. They announced that they print directly on the bed, but the one in Groningen had tape on the bed. It looks ok in black, but not as good as a Cannon printer for example. It's looking like a black Replicator-1.
  17. Try replacing the shipped pypy version with the 64bit linux version from pypy.org

    New Cura

Alexander made a mistake in the version number. We already shot him for this. (Paintball was fun) It is the 12.10 release, the titel is just wrong.

    New Cura

Just keep watching the blog, the first announcement will be done there.
  20. It's a known problem with any GCode file over 50MB.

    New Cura

I think I show quite a bit in my latest presentation, and really quick. You might want to view it twice or 3 times I noticed that Cura has quite a few features that people want but cannot find. So clearer manual, better buttons are a priority.

    New Cura

Suggesting big features a few days before the new release makes it hard to fulfill wishes ;-) There are a lot of cosmetic differences, and a few new features. We'll outline the details with the release.
  23. The marlin date is when the firmware was build. So that's fine. If you want to test something for me, can you try opening the installation folder of Cura 12.10_RC4, and there should be a cura.bat there. If you run Cura that way you'll have an extra debug window. When you press print, does anything show in there? (The auto-detection of baudrate/serial port has a few bugs in 12.08, which is most likely why it does not work)
  24. First check if all cables are properly connected. And if the 3 wire connector is wired up correctly. There have been a few cases of the 3 wire connector being wired wrong, check if the colors (red/black/yellow) is in the same order on both sides. You could also swap it with the other color 3 wire connector.
