  1. THANK YOU !! I probably have spent.... more than 40,000 euros on buying the first color film footage and that is every cent I earned since University.. I want to have a OK chance to put this amazing historical collection online and try and earn a few bucks back from the investment. Thats why these little checks now as the site is young and small is so so important ! So big THANK YOU if you can have a look for me  Ian
  2. Thanks Daid for the good tip ! :-) Im going to apply this tonight. If you spot any more loopholes in the system please let me know. I spent every penny iv earned for 16 years buying these rare pictures and I want to try and protect the online archive. Thanks a lot and big hugs ! Ian :-)
  3. Im really a newby at building sites. I started a few weeks ago now building a site for my historical photo collection. I have upladed almost 260 rare and valuable photos already. Before I dump truck even more onto the online platform ?.... Is there anyway to check how secure the site is ? I dont really want someone to be able to open a public folder directly and click... copy and paste all content.. Then I have a lot of fun trying to stop a small army of people selling DVDs online with my photo collection for 5.99... If anyone with experience in this direction could give me a few security tips ... that would be brilliant ! Thanks guys. Ian  http://www.pixpast.com
  4. ohh thank god !! your right ! She was a real pleasure to meet. Very funny and very smart !! :-) Ian
  5. top is.. left boss of makerbot germany... right.. boss and owner of Fabbster Germany bottom left David Bramm and right...funny nice girl that also produced some piece of software for 3d printing... ahhh... whats the womens name or software.... I know Daid is going to pinch me for forgetting this...... LOL Ian
  6. congrats on the new ultimaker !! :-) thanks for the helpful info ! Ian :-)
  7. that would be no problem I think ! I was also playing with a non fixed tension system but for now.. with the preset locking positions.. the filament is just held very snuggly in position and no problems... BUT !! as PLA gets older it can loose a little of its strenght and then the presets loose their powers... so a spring or rubber band would be a good idea ! Ian
  8. the printer wont know it runs out... the printer will finish the gcode movements and then park the hotend. Next morning you will find a half print.
  9. point taken !! i did this presentation in the middle of the night and totally forgot to spell check it ! Ian :-)
  10. Here is a little more info on my design :-) The design works this way. You can click off the front easily. Then release the left arm. Left arm rises up opening between left and right arm. Load any filament into the centre and push it up a little into the bottom of the bowden tube. Then return the left arm and lock it into the according filament type position. The whole design is mounted on two existing screws going to the right of the stepper motor. The power is directly fed from the stepper into the bottom fixed right gear. The arm system is designed to accomodate any filament and still keep gear contact.. so the power is distributed to both arms equally. Then the filament is very confortable held my the the outside profile of the lego rubber belts. The power and traction is equal over a much much larger area. Because the material is initally fed into the bowen.. the material does not move out of the mechanism. it follows because there is equal power being added to the complete filament piece and not only one or two points. I want to find smaller good quality rubber belts and then make this simple design maybe 1 third the size.. then it becomes very practical and very sexy.... But it works great and is super simple in concept  Ian  ps.... the best system I found for using the round bolt coming out of the stepper feeder was actually to keep the knurled bolt tightly on there and actually design my profile with the grub screw into the back of my design and use that as the grip connector to drive my power drive ! Use the design.. dont fight it

  13. will do ! these are just screen shots from the presentation I did last week. Ian :-)
  14. It was weird.. I visited my publisher in germany last week and showed him my site with my photos. He just turned to me and said.. so you want to donate your life to the springer corporation ? I asked him what he meant ? and he turned his eyes to the sky and told... springer is a registered trademark in germany.. I am officially living in germany and must obey the rules there... I cant use any logo or trademark that uses the word SPRINGER with any seperation from other words within germany. Funny thing is... if I was still living in Ireland... this would be zero problem... The germans are admittely MENTAL !!! about their laws and how... everything is illegal... im sure when I quietly fart at a bus stop... they could do me for gasing..... Ian
  15. doing lots of test rigs for my new dragnet feeder system
  16. I got some samples of that to try this week, at FABCON :-) It really is amazing !! they had rings printed from the bronze.. you thought it was made of solid metal... and it polishes up as metal... totally amazing !!!! what ever the price.. colorfabb will sell this stuff like crazy... Ian :-)

  22. But !! im already cooking up an even better version.... save realiability but lighter and designed to be hotend mounted !.. I think hotend mounted feeders are the best solution.. then bye bye bowden ! :-) Ian
  23. and yes the dragnet is the system i have on my ultimaker2 and its working... perfectly... :-) I just want to get smaller belts and bring the whole thing down in size... then its a real winner :-)
