  1. @korneel I totally agree with your feeling. I haven't visited the forum except the feedback topic, while I used to check every hour or two.

I said the same as blizz, this close interacting structure you tried to build should appeal to new non-technical users. Search, ask questions, get answers leave. Kinda like yahoo answers. I doubt those people will stay and be contributing users more than 10% of the time, but that is OK! Those people need our answers and expertise.

The forum needs those people that answer the questions and for them to be there, they need to have reason to be there, their own posts and discussion that go into depths and explore our own dual extrusion etc. But that is the part where I feel this forum is missing the point. They don't feel like it's their forum anymore, just a place where you can answer questions. There were quite some news articles and products and methods I tried that I wanted to discuss, but opening the new forum made it seem so hard and not use full that I didn't share/discussed them.

I'd love the old forum with problem fixes, I don't feel at home here where I can discuss all about Ultimaker and 3d printing. I hope your upcoming patch helps or the one after that, but for now the same as Korneel, I'll just keep visiting the feedback part every now and then. I hope I won't miss too much.

  2. What's the point of the global sign next to my name and shop. If I click on it I cannot change the language or the currency.

Oh and middle mouse clicking on shop goes to https://ultimaker.com/shop/

Yes I understand it was made to click, and semi pop up, but people don't always do that.

That's the feeling I get from this forum in general, it was made to be eye candy all over. Attractive for new inexperienced off the shelf UM2(family) owners(Nothing against those!) But the hardcore users were here for information, dense and with nice shortcuts to get to your information faster. And THEY are the ones I assume that should help those new inexperienced owners out as I understand the philosophy of the new forum.

When you edit a post, the button that finalizes the post says post comment, rather than edit post or so.

Are there no resellers, or does the page not work for me: https://ultimaker.com/en/resellers

Had more feedback, but clicking on notifications to dismiss the new one delete my draft post.

I wonder if more users share my thoughts on this next thing:

I'll continue to read this topic, but in the current state I can not use the rest of the forum to my liking.

  3. More feedback:

I keep losing the page numbers/previous ones. Kinda expecting them ABOVE the post comment.

Also would like to see that at the top of the page, now I have to scroll down...

Also if you go here, https://ultimaker.com/en/community/view/1467-post-your-latest-print?page=321

You scroll up, and the opening post shows, without it being clear that that is the opening post. No border or something. And! No page number indication. It seems that topic was dead for 2 years or so, but it isnt.

Old links to forum topics don't work: https://ultimaker.com/en/community/view/1467-post-your-latest-print?page=314#reply-100949

I used to use the page where you saw all the topics you posted in, ranked by latest post almost exclusively when I just wanted a quick update. Kinda can't find something similar now.

When adding a picture of a print, I LOVE the fact that you can incorporate some settings, but WTF @ resolution starting at 20 microns, and then 21-40. Just leave it open to people to fill out their exact value. This is so useless, 21 is something totally different than 40.

Icons in the post comment are to small, add external image for example isn't clear what it is.

  4. Hi Sander,

I heard some interesting things regarding NYC 3D print show, and Cura. Regarding the feedback, here's some initial feedback I gave:

    https://ultimaker.com/en/ultimakercom-feedback/view/11734-general-forum-feedback?page=2#reply-104543

To be fair and honest, I doubt I'll be continuing using the forum like I was in it's current state. I'll give it a chance, but it definitely feels totally wrong.

Unrelated but related: I have no clue why I was level 1, and now I added my name, became level 27 :p

  5. c)WYSIWYG doesn't do it's job, enters are not ending a line, causing this to be one big paragraph

Linebreaks are indeed turned off on the forum currently, we will be looking into this and reviewing how this will affect current content.

btw: quotes are working fine on my side, I'm a long time firefox user

This looks like it works, but the OLD quotes from previous topics, they are messed up like Blizz wrote, with the HTML blockquote

  6. Wow, guys, really?

    a) you are getting spamed by spammers.

    b) quotes don't seem to work(FireFox, chrome)

c)WYSIWYG doesn't do it's job, enters are not ending a line, causing this to be one big paragraph

    d)test

    c) All things take getting used to etc etc, but I am really, totally, utterly, completely lost. I understand what the people were thinking and trying to create, but there is just too much spacings everywhere, leading to a 1% information density.

  9. I rotated at the speed that it was able to rotate, and that it didn't start spinning like a centrifuge. In other words, no clue :p

I ended up letting it rest on my bathroom floor, with some sewing oil between the floor and canister. I didn't add any liquids at all(be careful when opening the canister). I did a run with some polisher in it too. Didn't turn out that well, messed up balance, didn't tumble it that long, print got soaked when rinsing, and broke during final polishing run by hand because I didn't gave it time to dry.

I'll build a more reliable setup after the exams, get some brass screws and start the real challenges like the owl and my tank
