  1. I sp love this organisation. Introducing http://enablingthefuture.org/2014/10/02/introducing-e-nables-newest-3d-printed-hand-design-the-raptor/. And the http://enablingthefuture.org/upper-limb-prosthetics/the-raptor-hand/ about it.
  2. Couldn't agree more. Plus if you have 5 notifications about a single thing and are already forced to go through that extremely annoying process once, it should at least remove the other 4 as well...
  3. You have a space at the end of the URL, if you click on it you have a 404. But thanks for the vid! Btw, take how many was that?
  5. Arjan: Makes sense but thats not possible here as the spring is hidden as well behind the front plate.
  6. Looks nice. Unfortunately for me personally I want to stick with something that allows for a quick filament change, so something with a clamp. Having somekind of indication how much tension there is on the spring is also very handy usually, then its not a "by feeling" thing if you have to modify between filaments (eg from PLA to flex)
  7. @foehnsturm: Do you use that 1mm nozzle on a different printer, or do you simply replace the "normal one"? Awesome print btw!
  9. @Sander: I was wondering, are there any tools we should preferably bring? @jroen: If they don't make it perhaps you can beg them to bring your printer to the meet
  10. Labern: Perhaps you should make a vid about it so the rest of us can learn
  11. As always: Bring the nametags! Hope I can still find mine
  12. Dinykb: its until 22h and you can always come a bit later, not everyone arrives at 17 (on the contrary, most people are later)
  13. And next time you have a problem with an extremely long log... please include it as an attachment instead, sjeezes.
  14. Titus: Imo it simply is because most people buy their UM2 assembled and have a lot less hands on experience with tinkering on it. I can hardly imagine that UM won't have another eve dedicated to the UMO. Btw: I am loving this and will be there for sure! Small question: Paying for the spare parts, will that be a cash only affair?
  15. A http://www.3ders.org/articles/20140928-nanosteel-announces-crack-free-dense-steel-powder-for-your-3d-metal-printer.html for 3d metal printers. I like where all of this is heading
  17. More prints for my godchild/niece: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:166802 It's a rattler, printed some peas to put in there during the printing of the head. It's the fully closed version to make sure they won't fall out if the handle should come loose. I've printed it with a 1.2mm shell to make sure it can witstand manhandling, because I'm fairly sure she'll use it to smack her 2 brothers around
  19. I tend to agree... If you see what the printer is actually printing, it looks like very bad quality. Doesn't mean its not an interesting development though. There actually a lot of information https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/460400892/affordable-3d-metal-printer-aurora-labs/comments.
  20. My dad used to be a truck driver and is - like most of them - a big fan of the Michelin Man (Bibendum). He stopped driving about 15 years ago but when I saw http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:72918 on Thingiverse I decided to print a keychain version of it: It's about 4cm tall.
  21. Also not entirely on topic but Cirque du Soleil designed
  22. Saw this and I though it might be of interest: Starting at $4,499 AUD
  24. Hopefully there's no overextrusion... its bad enough as is
