I know you said you haven't changed anything, but are you sure that you didn't accidentally enabled a plugin in cura with an alternate fan setting? It's easy to overlook the fact that you still have a plugin instance with all those settings.

Except someone would promise you life-long chocolate cookies support... ?
If that gives us up to date secret info over what is going on I can get behind that. Lets start a Daid cookie fund (although Sander seems bribe-able as well
).
-
All of that would be awesome, but poor Daid

Welcome. I'm sure we'll see a lot more of you once the printer arrives
Be prepared for the new addiction in your life.

Probably based on the assumption that a nozzle is .4mm wide and you'd want at least 2 passes to get a shell off decent thickness
-
Cabo what dremel bits do you use for this? My dremeling on printed models usually results in molten plastic...
-
Sander: I suspect it's going to be a bust, so this'll serve to hang it on the wall.
You know, as in "I killed this beastie and kept the head"

If you want a lot of details I think you're going to have to split it I think. Any support will leave some damage after removal. Perhaps you should take a look at https://www.ultimaker.com/blogs/news/2014/07/02/3d-printed-lightsaber-design-philosophy. Might give you some ideas on how to split this.

From http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:257911. Tried to print this one a couple times already in the past but always had issues with the little pieces initially becoming detached. So learning more I went back to it once in a while and finally succeeded in getting it out fairly okay
-
I doubt if you will ever be able to make a satisfactory print of this on a Ultimaker (or any FFD printer), Maybe something for a monthly challenge
My thoughts exactly.

You can just pop up, no one is running an ad blocker there
-
Woah those teeth (and pretty much everything else) are going to be a b*ch to print without a lot of support...
-
Nico: Last meeting they went around and were diagnosing stuff on peoples printers (and helping them fix it) without people even requesting. I really don't think they would mind. It's a good bunch of lads
-
Yeah, my car needs some mileage
-
@Sander: No go I'm afraid. I can't even get it to come through the nozzle anymore, no matter what I try. Guess I'll have to play a bit with the tension of the arm of the feeder to get that working.
-
Good to know, going to try it as well then
-
Guess HC it is then, thanks for the advice

Good to know
What would be the best way (read cheapest) to get from Heathrow to Canary Wharf, if I'm allowed to abuse your knowledge a bit?

DonMilne: Whenever I see a combination of philips screws and exerting force I immediately put on gloves, those things are nasty sharp
Arjan: Yeah indeed, but that is a longer wait
Usually when I set my mind on something it has to be *now*

I prefer those as well but unfortunately wasn't able to locate M3 screws with a flat torx head

I have the same issue, also with the right fan. UM promised me about a month ago they would send me a replacement for it. Never heard of it again. Sigh
-
The clever way to do it is these:
I've stabbed and cut myself plenty of times so I now have a habit of putting those on first.
And yes, the ground filament does hinder regular extrusion if its bad enough.
-
Talk about dedication

Charles for regular filament my UM2 was already pretty awesome, so quality wise not that I have noticed.
I installed it for all the other advantages:
- It allows changing filament very easily
- Has the snap on for flexibel filament.
- It's a lot easier to clean after grinding.
- It allows changing filament very easily

300 for an MK8? Seems a tad low to me.
I've had it set to 365 when I was using it (temporarily reverted back to the stock gear for now).
The value for the original one is 282.
