I stole Ians post to clarify things a bit:
-
down. the spring thightens and pushes down an L-shaped lever that ends behind the roller and puts more pressure on it.
-
The setting is nowhere to be found on a Mac
(or just well hidden)
-
Sander: I was simply referring to "time slot wise"
A bar would indeed suffice, not much organising to do there.
-
I don't think the pause at z plugin takes the power of the feeder motor (but I'm not sure).
As long as it's under power you cannot pull back the filament. So yes, you'll probably need an open feeder.
Perhaps you can try it, just print a single layer of something and pause it.
-
Sander we decided to make it a full weekend city trip so we'll be arriving friday morning and staying until sunday evening. That should also include a good hotel so we booked in the http://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/hilton-london-canary-wharf.en-gb.html

Cool
Perhaps we should let you guys organise something? It'll be a lot busier for you I guess, we can accommodate.
-
So I've made this, just because I liked it:
Ow, and a bunch of these, you can never have enough:
And until my ball bearings arrive for Roberts spoolholder, I'll have to settle for this piece:
-
Zews: The purpose of the tube is to check extrusion, it does not need to be a perfect tube. It easily happens that the next layer doesn't attach.
As long as the strands of plastic are consistent in thickness and appearance the test should be considered ok.

This topic ?
Yeah indeed, this is the post I was referring to.

Unfortunately I don't have that option, the wife loves the 3D print stuff by now and she saw there will be printed jewellery as well (unstoppable).
We just booked flights and the hotel (4 - 6 september). Bye bye 600€.
So yeah, would be nice to meet up there
-
Arjan: Still considering on going actually (the 6th that is), the wife wants to combine it with shopping (gonna be an expensive weekend). If we manage to book, perhaps we can all meet up?

I am, slowly, trying to change the setup to a push construction
Seems someone had the same idea. A more generic setup for various liquids.
-
Woah... one day, when I grow up, I will be printing stuff like that! *dreams*
-
Not sure where they sell them here though.
That is the only reason I don't have one yet either
-
I can't find the topic right away but I know a a couple people putting the sewing machine oil on a pipe cleaner to continuously lubricate the filaflex. You can even drill a hole through the snap-on and put the pipe cleaner in there so that it doesn't mess up your knurled wheel.
-
Hmm was considering going but the hotels there are so expensive
-
Sander well then you guys must have awesome feeders. I tried with the stock feeder and even at speeds of 20mm/sec and 230º either no extrusion or the filament started coming out of the back of the feeder

Cool, I have white

Dunno if there is some magic formula.
For me it's a love/hate relationship in any case
I've had 1 time where everything worked great, the second time I loaded it I had massive underextrusion (with the same settings). The last time I wanted to print with it I couldn't even get it to start extruding. (also Roberts feeder with the snap-on btw).
-
So do you still need help in printing stones?
I might be able to print a couple.
-
-
3dcase: Unrelated, but wth are you printing?
-
Sigh... After about 20 attempts I give up.
I tried everything that my (stil limited) printing knowledgebase of a brain contains but I can't prevent the fusing of the gears with the walls.
Is it normal to adjust the flow rate?

Thank you knowledgebase Robert
It is so handy and awesome to have you around.
