The profiles for BQ printers have been adapted for the new version of Cura (15.06). I am sure they will be available in the next Cura release.

    They will be.

I want to print a small model. In trying to determine the optimum printing speed I played around with printing speeds.

At a printing speed of 20 mm/sec the reported printing time is 40 minutes

At a printing speed of 25 mm/sec the reported printing time is 36 minutes

At a printing speed of 30 mm/sec the reported printing time is 35 minutes

At a printing speed of 35 mm/sec the reported printing time is also 35 minutes

At a printing speed of 50 mm/sec the reported printing time is 2 hours 22 minutes.

Obviously something is very wrong here.

Unfortunately the uploaded images in which you can see the reported printing times cannot be seen in full scale in the forum.

Also, even though I have checked "Follow and receive reply notifications" in every topic I have followed, I never receive any notifications.

Have you double checked that topics that you follow end up in my profile > following? And have you checked the bell icon in the menu bar for notifications? These notifications seem to work fine on my end, I got a notification from you actually because I'm following this topic.

If you're talking about email notifications, that's something that isn't there yet. We're working on that right now to launch soon.

I had a similar issue tonight. I loaded and tweaked a model that should take 5.5 hours to print. It became 20 hours for some reason. I removed the Ultimaker2 printer that was listed in Cura (This machine profile was brought over from 15.06.01, I think), then I added it again, and the print times were more reasonable.

In the Layers view I can't see the blue lines showing print lines or retractions. Is there a way to enable those? Those lines were present in previous versions of Cura before the 15.06, and they're very helpful for me when using a pause command. Blue lines let me see whether or not after resuming the first thing to get printed will be the scratch block over in the corner.

Nope, no way to enable that. It should be added eventually, don't know the timeline on that.

Something I can't figure out how to control the speed of in 15.06.02 is the movement speed during combing.  I have the travel speed set to 200 mm/s in Cura, and in the UM2 hardware settings I have Max X = 200, Max Y = 200.   It seems like all movement is 200 or less except during the combing actions, which happen at breakneck speeds.  How can I slow that down?

edited to add: This issue of mine may not be related to 15.06.02. I think I just don't understand all the movement and acceleration functions yet. Turns out I was over extruding in my current print because of a wrong diameter filament setting. Globs were building in a couple places, then the nozzle would run into one at high speed and cause the nozzle to be off for the rest of the print. Maybe it's all going same speed now as it was yesterday when I was using 14.09

Encountered the following issue with Cura 15.06.01 and 15.06.02:

    5a330fae4cbfb_15_06.02rotate.thumb.jpg.c6ce98e1f9d92e1219a01d57a2ff90fb.jpg

The build plate background isn't loading, and the tools for rotate/scale etc aren't appearing when the object is selected.

Two computers were tried, both running Win7.

Any tips? 15.04 works fine on both of the computers Cura 15.06.01 and .02 isn't working on.

Just want to report a finding: layer view after rescaling object showing previous object size.

I opened an STL. Both the solid and layer view work fine.

    Rescaled the model:

    - Solid view is showing the rescaled object correctly.

    - Layer view is showing the object in its original size.

    Rescaled the model again:

    - Solid view is correct.

    - Layer view is showing the previous object size after the first time rescaling.

Please report issues on the github. Its almost impossible for us to keep track of issues on the forum.

By that logic, perhaps we should use github for all our discussions... Badumtisch!

    (I'll show myself out...)

I must say I like the clean look of having no checkerboard. I may have to tinker with the shader for the buildplate...

Hi, I have installed it on Windows 7 OK but when I installed it on Windows 10 it crashes and the system is unable to fix it. Any ideas how to proceed?

I kinda do too! Now if only the tools for the settings would show up, I'd have nothing to complain about. :)

Cura 15.06.02 gives the time and length of filament use but did the new release drop the number of grams used for a job? Spools are sold by weight and pricing costs of jobs for clients was very helpful. Now it appears gone. Is it located somewhere or can I customize it to display the jobs in length of time and total weight used in grams?

    Thanks.

It looks like this functionality will return in the form of a plugin in one of the next releases of Cura. I think you can manually add the plugin in your current version:

    Edit post

I have posted the following before, unfortunately nobody from Ultimaker has responded about this. Also unfortunately the same thing is happening again now.

For a model I currently want to print Cura reports the following:

At a print speed of 50 mm/sec the reported print time is 2 hours and 47 minutes

At a print speed of 40 mm/sec the reported print time is 3 hours and 18 minutes

At a print speed of 30 mm/sec the reported print time is 4 hours and 12 minutes

At a print speed of 25 mm/sec the reported print time is 4 hours and 57 minutes

At a print speed of 20 mm/sec the reported print time is 2 days, 9 hours and 54 minutes!

Obviously something is very wrong here.

I really wish somebody from Ultimaker would respond to this, and tell me either what I can do to fix this or tell us that this is a known bug and when a fix for this will be available.

How can one see an added image in full size once it is uploaded? This was easily done in the previous version of this forum, and now I can't seem to figure out how to see a full size image.

I can run Cura 15.06.02 on my Mac running OS X 10.10.2

However, I find that a lot of things do not work properly and I am constantly reverting back to 15.02.1 for printing.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
