  2. But you still need to swap the Nozzle Ian ;)

I don't think the problem lies with the costs for the Nozzle.

Personally I would like a larger variety of nozzles (+ filaments) and I don't think if I want to make a large beautifull print I would be bothered by swapping the nozzle. It would be worth it when the print is done. So for me personally it wouldn't be a problem.

Also, I would like to run some prints with a smaller Nozzle once.

Does anybody have any experience with this?

  3. Beste Ulti-vrienden,

  4. It's not so much an issue with the feeder, as with the reel.

if the filament starts to get tangled at all - especially as the reel gets used up, and the radius of curvature of the filament is tighter, while there's more room for the filament to move around on the reel and get stuck between other loops of the filament, it can become hard to pull off.

Try pulling a meter or two of filament off the reel, and then letting it coil back loosely... and ideally keep doing that every so often so that the extruder never has to pull the plastic too hard.

To reduce friction inside the bowden tube, as an experiment you could also try to spray a tiny bit of oil/sewing machine oil in the bowden tube. It is recommended for flexible filament, and i have not noticed any side-effects in the print.

Alright, the magnifying glasses arrived. The layers seem to be the same height. So it might be underextrusion then:

But some layers look weird, like the layer diameter changes. Also these plastic strands look bad and are not uniform:

Could this be caused by too much movement of the bed?

Here is another print at 0.1 layer height. The layers here look alright except for some weird effects (huge blobs vertical ripples). I did print it fairly hot though (240-250° and 60mm/s speed).

250°C sounds very hot, for 60mm/s. I think 230°C should be sufficient. If your filament is not extruding properly at this temperature, maybe there are different problems. (Or your temperature is not displaying properly. Have you ever tested this? Do you have any indications this may be the case?)

I believe we offer high quality filament, but of course a flaw can occur.

Can you measure on about 5 different spots with a pair of digital calipers? (try to have some meters in between).

    What are your measurements?

You could also try faberdashery, I solely here positive stories about their filament.

And personally, I never focus on the 11mm the spring needs to be tensioned at.

I always focus on the amount of friction I receive from the spring and filament.

Would be great to finally get this wobble of the table, right Nico?

  5. Indeed, I have ;)

How does the surface of the bowden tube look like?

In the white tightner are 4 tiny knives holding the bowden tube at its place.

If you frequently have this problem, there is a very good chance either the 'knives' are bent/broken or just scraped the surface of the bowden tube so now they can't hold the bowden tube no more.

The blue piece is there to make sure the white tightner is 'locked/secured'. But if there is a problem with the little knives inside, that is kinda like locking an open door..

I never had this problem either, but on rare occasions one of the machines in the office has its tube popping.

Make sure you are not printing too hot compared to the speed you are printing at.

When you print too hot, you have a high chance of a plug forming > bowden tube popping.

I have my doubts about that add on, as it implements pressure on the tube. To me that sounds like you have a high chance of deforming the tube or making the inner diameter smaller, causing friction, leading into under extrusion.

(perhaps even friction > pressure > higher chance of bowden tube popping.)

  6. Hi Tomato,

    Thank you for your post.

Does it jump to 205-215 or do you have the feeling it is often 10°C off?

Can you check if the wires of the thermocouple sensor are not damaged?

Is your signal cable not damaged? Especially around the area where the spiral wrapping ends near your hot end.

You can also change the Black-Red-Yellow signal cable for the Brown-Orange-Green cable.

Looking forward to hear about your findings!

  7. Hi Guys

    Thanks for posting.

I understand the situation, and the way the process goes now is far from ideal and also not like we intended.

Unfortunately, we ran into some problems we are still working on fixing.

We do our very best to get back with everyone and give them the info the require.

I know one of the causes of the error is the checking of the VAT number. I don't know if you entered one, but that gives complications sometimes, because that service is overloading..

Another thing was that placed orders not always show up in the account of the customer.

Which I understand can be very confusing, or even worrying.

I would be happy to look into our system and find the info you need.

We start shipping Ultimaker 2's from October 21st and we intend to keep the leadtime under 2 weeks.

For a more accurate estimation I need some more information.

Like the name used for placing the order, and at what date.

Please sent me a PM so I can get back with you.

We are working on a solution, thank you for your patience..

  8. Hi mjhhpdd,

Thank you for your post. I am very sorry to hear you have not yet received a reply on your question.

Just like Paul said, we are very busy with the release / events and new website.

But of course that shouldn't keep us from getting back with our customers. We intend to get back with everyone on a short term now everybody is getting back in their saddle.

Please, sent me a PM with some more personal information, so I can look for your order.

Your post doesn't give me much to work with.

Looking forward to hear from you, thanks.

And once again our apologies for any inconvenience our slow response may have caused.

  9. Hi Kada,

    Thank you for your post.

If I look at your order I see the order went through properly ('Complete'), the order was paid for ('Paid')

and the shipment state is 'Ready'.

Once the order will be shipped the status will change to Shipped.

I see you ordered an Ultimaker 2, and we start shipping the first machines on October 21st and will do our very best to keep the leadtime under 2 weeks.

  10. Thanks Daid for monitoring this post and giving the information.

I just got back from Rome and we are back in our saddle so our response time will be much faster from now on.

Thanks for everyone's understanding & patience so far!

If you have an urgent open ticket that requires immediate attention please let me know and I will look into it.

In the upcoming days we will do our very best to get back with everyone.

  11. Hi LTC,

There is a free reel of filament included with the Ultimaker 2. Just like with the Ultimaker Original.

However, it will be the Ulti-Blue PLA. So no choosing ;)

In build display means the OLED Display, that replaces the UltiController >> Build in.

The Direct drive is the replacement of the feeder mechanism. It is the black component on the back of the Ultimaker 2 pictures.
