  1. Made a other attempt. First (see other message) slice was good, wanted to change some settings, and after that, only shifted parts. Wondering, perhaps it has something to do with cache, recent files. So back to 123D and save some new stl's different names. First attempt of merging and slicing cura, gave only 1 shifted layer  ( better than shifted parts...)
  2. Hi there, something strange (for me) I'm using tweak atz plug in, version 2. I load my 2 stl's, merge them. All looks great. I use the plugin 3 times. - start printing both hotends at 225 1- at 0.5mm 1st hotend 220 2nd to 0 2- at 75mm (at 80mm want use dual printing) 1st hotend 220 2nd 220 3- at 80mm 1st to 205 2nd to 180. In layer view i can see the to parts shifted, (hard to meassure but couid well be the offset in cura pref.) In normal view it looks normal... Even stranger is that the first time I ran cura (luckily got a copy on my SD card). It all looked great, started printing and like to make a change. Anybody had this before? or a way to solve it? Or an other plugin to use? regards Kees
  3. Don't tell anybody... I will give it a secret try!
  4. "because I do have combing enabled" Are we talking Cura? Could not find it in 13.06 or 13.04 ( the older versions I've uninstalled), or a "secret" version? When you give it a try in 13.04 pretty sure it retracts on the 'blue' lines. I would use Infill>perimeter>loops for print sequence
  5. Nice! at least you van start printing . Glad mine is +0.3 I'm figuring out for myself how to make the printhead more sturdy, it's a little bit "wackelig" now. It can hit the the 2 rear platform levelling screws, or something curled up from the lower layer and then you can start all over again.
  6. In the expert setting tab you can set the amount of brimlines
  7. LOL!! She liked it! did n't had her reading glasses on!
  8. I'm printing it now, and it works, see if I can upload my gcode somewhere, perhaps that might help you to figure it out, I've put the code on my own webspace somewhere, pain in the a** to upload something here. http://3dcase.eu/cube4.gcode perhaps it helps..
  9. Not so fast this time, did not see it before. I'm not familiar with blender, "save them together in one STL" means, you can save more then one part in a stl. Perhaps you can copy your fuselage, scale down one, and substract one from the other?. or something like that. than you end up with a hollow fuselage, to print with no infill. Or draw a part for the spots you want hollow, and then do a boolean substraction.
  10. Finally something in dual colour came out of the printer, worthy calling a print. Me, myself and the printer have had more productive days. Don't take a look in my trash bin . A lot of adjusting and trying left to do.
  11. would be handy to have an option to choose indeed, I've got mine working now. while adjusting and setting up for the first time, it would be nice to be able to run and test your new hotend. before trying to run them both.
  12. Hard to tell from the pictures, you have to be sure that the 2 different stl, one for each color, have the same origin. I would think something is wrong with the model perhaps? Have you made the model yourself or downloaded it? If I had to draw something like this. I use autodesk 123D, but should work the same in most programs. Draw one box, split it a few times. Don't move physically anything. make 2 new empty parts and move, in your structure browser, the boxes by color. Save the parts by color in 2 seperate stl files. Open them together in cura and merge with the right mouse button. That's how it should work . :???:
  13. It's working with me... I'm using a Ulticontroller, for one or another reason my 13.06.04 doesn.t work with the usb cable. I have a lot of experimenting and adjusting to do, but it prints 2 colors
  14. Like Johan Cruijff said. 'every nadeel has its voordeel' :-P I'll keep an eye on the 'Ultimaker FOR SALE section' Might come some originel's available for a nice price....
  15. Don't forget to countersink or Pothole the 2 platform leveling screws in the back. The second extruder will hit them, while trying how big your print can be. :(
  16. Thanks, hope you did not take the laptop with you to the "camping'
  17. http://diy3dprinting.blogspot.nl/2013/02/diy-reprap-with-triple-extruder-setup.html this guy had the same idea.. But Nice idea!!!
  18. Hi, anybody knows how to define which STL, of the 2 you need to merge in cura, goes to ext 1 or ext 2? somebody found a setting? or the first stl you load goes to ext1? regards Kees
  19. A kind of 'Hit and Run' button..? As long as you guys make a window in it!! Watching is the most fun part
  20. Up and running :-P, took a few hours to assemble the thing. I'm reassured I can use it again with one extruder as in the last year. The dual kit is sold as experimental, that could be EXPERIMENTAL !! But that's no problem, will figure it out. Might take a lot of posting and reading though...
  21. hi, you have to design your print in the 3d software as 2 separate parts and save them together in one STL. Make the outer part hollow, (shell, in most software). If this is no help enough, you might want to post a screenprint or something to get a better idea of your question.
  22. While printing the mounting bracket for the second extruder, trying to find a good place for the extra rol of filament? Any good ideas?
  23. Hi, I,m using an Xbox Kinect with a USB adaptor on my windows7 laptop. For scanning I've downloaded the windows toolkit SDK 1.7. You can adjust the scandepth from 8 to 0.35 mtr. I got myself a Nyko zoomlens and wrecked a pair of reading glasses, but for me that makes no notable difference. For my setup the limit seems to be the laptop, I've made some pretty detailed scans. In the sdk toolkit you can adjust the 'cutout' off the object real easy. But I have not been able to do a 360 scan on the highest resolution yet. I'll give that zbrush a try, for cleaning the scan, using meshlab now. http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/gallery/image/1146-wp-000717/
  24. Fals alarm, found my own answer, . 'should have looked further thaen my nose" Nice engineering, it fits all in the same size printhead housing!
  25. Hi There, While I'm awaiting the yellow DHL van, oh oohw  , a question mark? the dual extr. setup needs room I guess, so what will be the max printing size? Anybody knows? Some of my prints are maxed out on 200x200, should I print some extra for stock, before I put the new printhead in? Thanks Kees
