  1. Hi guys, Quick question. Would a laser module somehow fit into a toolhead with the same width as the UM2 printhead but just 70% in depth?
  2. Well I consider this more the standard dual-extrusion approach
  3. Indeed, but the original glass plate works as well. The glass is the same thickness.
  4. ... and his little brother The youmagine robot, modified in a similar way but for dual extrusion.
  5. So now I almost know what settings PVA likes. Unfortunately it's a combination Cura doesn't offer yet. I prefer zig-zag infill because other patterns seems to produce a heap of retractions. However, with zig-zag there is no perimeter line around the infill and without that perimeter support roof produces a mess as 50-90% of the lines start in mid-air. You can see the difference between zig-zag support without roof and grid support with support roof on the two pictures showing the bottom side. BTW: Why these sharp corners with zig-zag infill (every slicer seems to do that)? If PVA de-laminates it's always there, presumably due to the velocity / extrusion rate changes.
  6. Hi Shurik, I assembled the files and sliced with (new) Cura. Scaled to 200% and cheated with nozzle size (set to 0.25 while actually printing with 0.4 mm). As you had to design the stars to be inlays it's quite tricky to print the one on the front side. Very little to extrude but a lot of retractions, the same issues I suppose you had when printing it separately.
  9. @shurik would you mind sharing the files? I'd love to give it a try

  12. Sorry to say, but Cura 2.1 doesn't work reliable with dual extrusion used for support (Mac OSX 10.11.4) (I know dual support is not official yet) Just take a machine profile which allows to set "support_extruder_nr" (like the sample dual_extrusion profile). Slicing with support activated and support_extruder_nr=0 works well. Same settings but support_extruder_nr=1 makes the slicing process freeze after some time. This occurs not with all but with like 90% of the stl files I tried.
  13. Hi anxjfarnoth, what type of filaments are you using? You are talking about the tiny gap between the driving wheel and the place where the bowden sits? I thought that might be an issue only with flexible filaments.
  14. How many hours have you been printing with the UM2+ upgrade? I had this (with a pre-production upgrade) after approx 250 hrs ... The teflon isolator was mounted with too much pressure on it. You could see deformations on the outside and the inner diameter was 2.9 mm! Drilled it to 3 mm now it's working again.
  15. Yep, the raised temperature did the trick. The crossflow is still mounted in the UMO, which I don't use atm. The tube is printed with approx. 40% fan (stock UM2+ fans)
  16. For some reason Scaffold extrusion is not that consistent (maybe I should disassemble the feeder...). But besides this it could become a success. Btw, the two support structures on the left aren't connected, the upper one just starts on top of the pipe.
  17. Trying a real challenge now Support starting on a curved and slanted surface and inside the tube as well
  18. ... worked out somehow. Don't ask about the ugly surfaces, I took it from GrabCad and it's not designed for 3D printing. This one is pretty easy
  19. ... and still collecting feature requests: I had to set support / horizontal expansion quite high (3mm) otherwise support would sometimes start with super tiny blobs on a slanted surface (which don't stick at all). Obviously now all support structures are inflated but the intention is to modify only the tiny ones.
  20. This looks promising for the first time, thanks @gr5 for bringing up the temperature aspect. Now printing Scaffold with 215°C instead of 195°C (E3D claims it's good for 190-220) Fingers crossed ...
  21. Hi @Crema, ... richtig.
  22. That's one of the feature requests I have for new Cura. The other one is a dedicated printing speed setting for support bottom layers (especially those on top of PLA). But I'm still collecting ...
