  1. We started our day today at 6:00AM with "Code Red" alert, followed shortly by a few loud bangs of the interceptions, clearly heard from the shelter where we sit with the half-sleepy kids. We see our "Iron Dome" battery from our home's windows. The good thing is, that the UM2 printer is <hopefully> safely located at the basement. Wishing you all very pleasant rest of the day.
  2. Das ist aber schade! Wie lange bleiben Sie in Israel?
  3. Didier Klein - which version of the feeder do you have? Robert put several of them.
  4. It's 35C out here, daily, but we do have A/C everywhere except the streets. Even in Europe, the A/C sadly becomes the necessity in our rapidly warming climate. On the different topic - who would like to come by Berlin on Saturday, August, the 9th? I'll be happy to meet you over there. Dim3nsioneer - für Sie und alle:
  5. Hi gr5, Yes, if the discussion will go on, we will perhaps copy it over to a more proper place. Meanwhile, here. The bunny was oriented exactly as it is on the photo. As I wrote - the shift is to the left. Later on, will try to reach the motors to tighten "the hell out of them" Any other ideas are always welcome, BTW.
  6. All right! Used the default retraction settings, 225C for the UM Natural White, 230C for Faberdashery Bling Bling Gold, 30mm/s. Yo-ho! Finally, it worked. The filament did get chewed up, but not to the point of blockage. Many thanks for all your suggestions! Now, another problem: There is twice shift to the left on the bunny's ears. The pulleys are tight. What could it be? I do not like it. Dim3nsioneer - I'll put another desperate smiley if there'll be no answers in a few days... :-)
  7. My 2 cents are that it looks like the temperature is too hot. Try to print on 210-220C. It should improve overall quality, too.
  8. Hi Dim3nsioneer, Danke zehr! Heh, I should've put that smiley from the beginning. Do you suggest that the spring in my UM2 (from February) is too strong? Should I ask for a replacement one? cor3ys - your prints look fabulous! I also try to use the Faberdashery filament, with slightly less appealing results on these prints, so far. Will try to use the suggested settings. Worst case - will print irobert's feeder, what else... Many thanks!
  9. Well, unfortunately, I have to revive the topic. After replacing the feeder with the one suggested by Bas (http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/4393-ultimaker2-feeder-system-improvements-and-ideas/?p=50304), all kinds of cloggings and black strokes during the prints are gone. However, the retractions issue didn't go away at all. This time, the task was to print bunny #2 from here - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:291323. It didn't play well: The filament was chewed flat and the plastic stopped flowing out the head. Then, I tried to increase the spring force a bit, since it was at the minimum possible, so now it is like this: The results were even worse - it spopped printing even earlier. The filament: The settings were set as recommended: UM Pearl White, 210-220C, 0.1mm, 30mm/s. I'm getting desperate with this. Please, help. :(
  10. Gee, I bought Xbox One via Amazon.uk at the very moment they started shipping to Israel. Interesting thing. Not perfect, but mostly does its job. My son loves it, so it's OK, I guess. Happy gaming!
  11. Maybe, re-leveling would help. If the distance from the tip of the head to the glass is too big, the plastic will form a glob on the head without touching the glass.
  12. Well, September vs. August makes a piece of difference. In September, there are already schools studying, it is out of the question. :-( Anyone to come over to Berlin in August, perhaps?
  13. Nicolinux - It doesn't have to be unofficial, after all. The Netherlands are not that much far away to send someone to Berlin. Well, relatively not far. Ian - bitte Sie! I do like Irish Cream though. Just let me know the date, I need to check my options...
  14. Hey Skint, I will hijack the thread with another related question - did you try long prints with the Faberdashery spools simply lying on the floor? Like, 6-12 hours prints? My fear is, that the coils will intertwist and overlap, preventing the print.
  15. Meine lieben Freunde! There's very good chance I can organize myself to Berlin this summer. There are two things to consider, though: 1. Despite being born once in what is now Belarus, I do not drink. No beer, no wine. A rare genetic mutation. :-) 2. Most probably, I will show the city to my 12-year old son. Other than that, I would really love to meet all of you guys who have helped me so much and whose wonderful works have always inspired me. Please, let's set the date for a DeutscheUltiFeierTag! It's not 100% yet, but I'll try to get myself organized.
  16. Installed and used a few times the firmware of illuminarti. Fantastic! No more troubles. My appreciations. Now, the UM must release the fix officially, since we can only imagine how many people who performed only the automatic upgrade now suffering from the grinding and filament being stuck in the Bowden tube.
  17. I only received my first Faberdashery a short while ago, and by trial and error have found that the temperature must be 240C for .2 layers at high speeds of 50-60 mm/s. And in my case too, it is very shiny, quite nice though. I do not use glue, only wipe the glass clean with some glass cleaner and heat the bed to 60C. Seems to stick.
  18. Morning! I know and use these good suppliers and they are not cheap, especially with the shipment costs + customs. 1. Colorfabb 2. Faberdashery 3. Ultimaker Ebay is full of cheap stuff. I have no intention of trying it.
  19. Being fed up with black strokes of material popping up on my prints and clogging the head from time to time, it was the time to seek alternatives. For some reason, the improved feeded version by Bas went almost unnoticed. After the metal ring was cordially sent to me, I printed and installed the feeder. The old one has clear signs of wear and tear, no wonder I had to clean my printhead lately so often. The new one looks nice. I also received new Faberdashery shipment and happily tried it. Alas, not so good: Even after the temperature increased to 240C, the test failed. Previously, with Colorfabb white, my printer reached 13-14mm3/s on 220C. Is 240C normal for Faberdashery Red? Seems too much for me. The tube and the head were pristine clean. Shall I try yet another feeder? Puzzled...
  20. Thanks guys. At the end, the part was split in two resolving all the problems.
  21. Well, the title says it all. The option of splitting the part into two exists but is undesirable. Can't think of a position to have the optimum print quality while keeping the part stable during the print.
  22. :-) Vacation is so boring :-) Sitting for second day by a pool in an Eilat hotel (43C tomorrow, BTW), I'm missing my UM2 and all my dear plastic junk, as my wife usually refers to it. Even more to that, I ordered a batch of Faberdashery filaments, and our UPS already called me to have them delivered today! Alas, it will be only on Sunday when I could get them. Who needs a vacation when you have Ultimaker at home? Another thing - Herr Ian - did you miss a message I sent you about a week ago? Nice day everyone and happy printing!
  23. Zehr nett! Looks as a very attractive material! Now, practical question - where/how/when can we have it?
