Stock pile them for bits, cheaper than buying the parts ; ) Running out of things to change on my ultimaker so might be the easy answer to find whats dead.

Spent the day yesterday at the TCT Show on the 3dhubs stand. Really good show with plenty to see and it was not as biased towards the monster machines as i thought. Now the proud owner of an Ultimaker 2, a new E3D hotend for the ultimaker original and a roll of bridge + loads of filament samples from colorfabb ; )

My Ultimaker has finally died after several weeks of intermittent faults. Now it have found that one of the stepper drivers is crashing everything, if i unplug it the ulticontoller works, plug it back it everything goes blank or starts the stepper motor it is plugged into pulsing. One of the other stepper drivers has a bit missing see photo. Does it make sense for a stepper driver to have this effect?

Xeon So you managed to keep the Bowden with the greater depth, that's cool as I want to reuse as many parts from my machine. Looked at the gmax but the website says they will not ship outside the US Plan now is get an ultimaker 2 then strip my ultimaker original

Hi Xeno So how big is your UM+? I want to expand to 400 x 400mm but leave the Z direction standard, so the plan is larger rods new panels and direct mount extruder. Its for architectural models and height is never an issue plus i do fancy a delta printer as well.

I think my main board may be on the way out, but just need your opinion before spending the money. Ulticontoller keeps going blank or filling the screen with odd letters and numbers and now i am getting no output to the heated bed when i test the output at the board i get 0.01 volts which i imagine is not enough to switch on the relay. I have started a support request the other day but don't hold much hope of a prompt reply. Can you buy a non ultimaker board?

add me to the list of dead UltiController card stopped working ages ago, easy fix turn the machine off and on again with the card in. Now the display is playing up okay i could handle that but when it has a proper mental session it pauses the print. So how do i preheat the pla etc with the controller?

Hi All Uni controller has started to display weird digits, unsure if it will have an effect on the actual prints but it did stop last night mid run. Recently fitted a heated bed and updated the firmware but that was last week and it had been running fine till now. Where do i need to start looking??

Just printed a vase in XT and apart from the base leaking like a sieve it came out really well UM 1 255°C 70°C bed 0.2 layer height speed 50 otherwise standard settings I use pritt stick with a brim and it stuck fine, gave up trying it with blue tape as it curled that hard it used to pull the tape off the bed. Print several at once in cura Tools: Print all at once

Should be there on the 6th, looking forward to it.

Is it a model you created? I have only had it on other peoples models when I check in Netfabb basic they are not water tight.

Just found out one of the grub scews has disappeared out of a pulley, so what size do i need? Also whilst on the subject is it worth upgrading the pulleys to a better version? Thanks

Hi Chris Welcome to the forum always nice to see more uk users. I use both the pc and mac version without a problem so may be worth a restart as illuminati says. Hopefully may catch up with some of you southerners at the 3d print show.

On stripped Allen bolts I use a star drive, it catches the corners. Just find one that is a tight fit.

Do you have some pics? Would like to see the enclosure and heated bed.
