  1. As an addendum of issues I am encountering: 1. Before upgrading to 3.5.1, Cura Connect would be able to read the status of a job even if it was not loaded throuigh Cura Connect. Basically, if a machine started a print with the USB stick, it would read the status and then update that printer. 2. Now, even if the job started with Cura Connect and has to be aborted, it will not register the change and update progress. It just reads job finished clear buildplate. And, this was 3 hours ago. It can only read the current job started through Cura Connect and if it is current and not restarted or from USB.
  2. You tell me. All I know is it just happens every time I use Cura.
  3. and just to make sure that the memory leak I am experiencing and 'silent crashes' do not get overlooked in the well deserved foofarah over plugging the Octoprint and monitor leaks, I still get both and I do not use the monitor and have never used Octoprint.
  4. @SandervG The windows are actually vacuum formed over a PLA Negative. I am not printing a set of engine positives for the Proteus and will use an alganate and then clear resin. Well, that is the game plan at least. I am approaching this like a model to be built and lit up with LEDs and fibre optics. Once I get a space cleared out for that type of work, I can finally finish some of my lamps too. I really want to finish up Kanigawa..... Oh...and, thank you ?
  5. OK, how about cartoonist and basic gadgeteer..... And, if you ever read Manga or seen anime, those cartoonists are very, very good at mechanical things....
  6. Quick projects in the works. Uncle Creepy Bookshelves. Books are printed separately to facilitate painting them and the bookshelves itself. They all fit perfectly. Base is not finished. This was just a quick print to stand things on to check for balance and such even though they will be locked down with glue. So far so good. Walls will be about 14" tall with the floor extended to a 10" x 10" base. Steampunk version of the "Proteus" from 'Fantastic Voyage.' I am designing the interior because I figured how to make clear windows. So, this was just a test print to see how it felt in my hands....And, BTW, the lines in the windows are when my fans stopped working efficiently...so, yeah, little things can have a big impact. But will work out fine once I make the master with the interior parts. This is where the interior is at this time. This is just a 3D rendering of my halting progress as I take care of other things. The single seat chairs are just placeholders until a make more period appropriate set of chairs more in line with the observation couch. This is the ship that I a started to play with making clear windows. So far so good. But, this test model got a bit too hot in the cleaning bath and is a bit warped in a few areas, but the windows and other parts that need lights showing through work just fine. Making the cockpit for this thing. Just slammed this together in about 2.5 hours just for funsies.
  7. I believe it has been stated that the UM printers do not display those until connected to a wifi setup. It has been presented as an issue with the enterprise setup concerning a static IP or some such thing.
  8. Well, since I found out that there are these "Silent crashes", I have taken note that there is not a single time I use the new Cura that it does not close cleanly.
  9. What is your accuracy on printed objects? I have gotten within .2mm of accuracy when I was testing mine out. Have you done a cura connect reset on the printer? It was advertised as when available. What are you printing that needs that at this moment? Ummm, just how long have you had your S5?
  10. Just so's you know, in my case, all memory leaks are in Cura prepare and usually when left alone. Minimized and in another application does not matter. I never use the monitor as my machines are right behind me. So, I am thinking that what I have been reporting has nothing to do with video usage or the monitor and I have never used Octoprint. Also, as I stated before, with nothing left on but Cura, but the browser and Cura was minimized, hence why I forgot to close it, it crashed overnight with nothing else going on. Also, to find out that Cura is 'silently crashing' is a real issue for me.
  11. Oddly, whilst presenting memory leaks, of which in my case, did not involve either the monitor or Octoprint, I was dunned and told to place those reports here. So, memory leaks of a general nature go here or there in the regular 3.5 thread. And, I awoke to find out that Cura had crashed overnight. Yeah, I forgot to close it again, but did it crash because it just chewed through memory or what? And, we find out that there is this thing called a 'silent crash' leaving all sorts of bits around to clog the system and has to be manually removed of which clogs the memory of the system.
  12. OK fine. All caps responses did not help. And, I guess us trying to report things that are going awry, I mean, "Silent crashes' and such not being part of the problem is not worth it. OK, nobody is stopping you and really, shows a problem with this process, and it is not the reporting of issues.
  13. I see, so, leaving trash behind is not doing anything to clog my system? I guess all that crap left on the HD, reducing virtual memory space means nothing? wow...ok.....I guess it is not an issue to worry about.
  14. Well, then, that is a problem, yes? If it only visibly crashes once, but is silently crashing that many times and not even reporting it, then I would say this is an issue. I would agree. But, if it is leaving trash behind, is that not contributing to memory issues? And, since I do not use the onboard monitor, nor octoprint, I am kinda thinking then that this does need to be new thread about 'other' memory issues.
  15. Kinda think that is a problem with Cura crashing, yes? May not be a memory leak, but it seems to leave pieces behind. and, no, it was not 11 crashes.....it was one crash. So, something is amiss.
  16. No issues here. GTX 1080-Latest drivers
  17. Just out of curiosity, did you ever consider 'fingerprinting' your process? By this, I mean to model with the lost detail in mind?
  18. And, as I went to clean up the crash junk, I found this...after Cura is closed..... Cura must be a gremlin, that got fed after Midnight, and then soaked in water because I had closed it out and it has left all these evil little pieces running about..... I see Stripe in there somewhere......
  19. I found, right after my post, that I had accidently left Cura open while I was asleep. So, in order of events: Finding I left Cura open: Closed Cura, reloaded same file: Sliced the file: Now, I usually would not post things so out of order, but, the file I opened was the same one that was sitting there when I discovered that Cura had been left open. Though out of usual reporting order, I have no doubt that the memory reported in usage was the same as I had noticed before. I have been keeping an eye out for the memory usage in general lately. But I was surprised to see that the memory had grown by 300% just by sitting there. This time, Cura Connect was in usage, but not in the monitor window. The difficulty I have is this: It really interfere's with my work process. This would be to have three programs open for tweaking purposes. Files going back and forth from 3DSMAX, 3D Coat and Cura as I tweak designs and substitute things. An example of that would be when I am working on an interior for one of my spaceship type models. I design the base mesh, pass it to 3D Coat for detailing, back to MAX and then to Cura. If it does not slice (say, too thin), then I work back and forth between the programs until I get a good slice on that set of parts. Eventually, mahem ensues, programs crash and my system is eaten up with crash junk and lost time and reboots just because of this type of issue. And, with 32 GB of RAM, it should not come to that.
  20. The memory leaks I provided information on was not using either process. At the time Cura Connect had dumped out on me and could not get it back until the prints were finished on the machines they hook into.
  21. Yeah, with the software upgrade, I was hoping a couple of things would be fixed. The aforementioned image previews lacking for anything but the S5. I am hoping they come along because I can see, at a quick glance, what is printing. Why, oh why, oh why does the S5 connection have to kill a print job anytime there is a 'difference in height' error? This is a real pain in the patootie. I have to go back and reload the job. Sometimes many times because it is just an error in the sensor readings and not an actual nozzle issue. I know this becuaswe I clean be bejeezuz outta my nozzles and when the plate does not even go to the nozzle and still give the error, well, then it is just an error. Now imagine being on one floor and having to go to another floor just to reload the file. The UM3Es do not do this. they just give you time to check, clean and it starts over again. And, no, I do not want that to be a meme.....it was just being flip when extremely aggravated. Figured flip was better than just venting.
  22. After your last screen is where I have had to input the IP address. To mkae matterws worse, I still get the image previews for the S5 on the files I send, but still get no images on the UM3E Cura Connects. We just had a firmware and software upgrade...why are they not acting the same?
  23. That is new to me. I have only seen it when I have sent something and then have to way up to five or more minutes before something will pass through. It is a bit of a guessing game on sent progress, but what you describe is new to me.
  24. It means that even though the little boxes are telling it has been sent, and then they are gone, it is not finished sending. Kinda like it lies to you about actual progress. Ain't it fun to guess on this stuff?
