As far as I know we were supposed to launch a open beta first. We only had a closed beta with 25 ish people testing it. That will catch a lot of the bugs, but not all of them.
We'll it seems it's not ready ....
After setup I get the "Installation complete" "setup was completed succesfully".
But it will not run, message "Errors in 'Cura.exe'
I'm on windows7,
Here the log file:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "cura_app.py", line 8, in
File "c:\dev\uranium\UM\Application.py", line 326, in getInstance
File "c:\dev\cura\cura\CuraApplication.py", line 64, in __init__
File "c:\dev\python34\lib\configparser.py", line 937, in __getitem__
KeyError: 'general'
And you should make a very clear statement on the installation page which Cura to use in which case, and what's ready and not ready in the new cura. You should provide guidance... as it's published now many users who should better stick to the old cura for now will download it anyhow...
Also adding "new cura" in the naming would be practical.
Edited by Guestuh oh. Not an other UM forum release with errors in Cura this time!
Also, really? Captcha on download? Are you guys getting lots of spam downloads?
EDIT: also, windows 8 is giving the installation file the, uhoh, might be harmful treatment.
I'm sure people will not install it because of that, either because they dont trust it, or because they simply can't find the damn button to.
Edited by Guesthm, more strange news:
Did someone press the PANIC reverse button?

Edited by GuestRemove the configuration file. You guys have had the beta, which causes problems (appearantly)

About the captcha, we had the suspicion yes. Hopefully you are not too inconvenienced
About the notification, wasn't this always the case that it was developed by a uncertified developer?.. or whatever the official term is?
We are also uploading the old versions for those users who want to look into them.
Keeping our archives up to date. You shouldn't receive a notification about that, we will stop doing so until the notification is turned off
edit, ok that might be a thing. Ill test that

Same error for me

Can you point me to it. I tried to find it in the usual places but no cigar

are you sure, just installed in a win7 VM, that also has 15.05.93 and 15.05.97 and it starts without the error ...
It is "working" as expected on OS X, FYI. Still buggy, but working.
I still haven't used it to print anything since I never use SD for printing.

Could you report the issues you have with it?

Saving to file & USB printing should work.
I'm available on IRC chat for fast chat in comparison to this slow chat
https://ultimaker.com/en/stories/view/16574-the-all-new-cura-with-all-new-features says:
"A dual extrusion feature with a completely new workflow."
Wasn't that going to be in 6months? Also, where it is? ^^?
NEVERMIND. It says future nicee
Edited by GuestThe README from the installation says:
Cura 15.06 Beta===============
This is the *Beta* version of Cura 15.06.
Cura 15.06 is a new release built from the ground up on a completely new
framework called Uranium. This framework has been designed to make it easier to

We're close. Very close. I expect (and note the expect, this is not a date set in stone) it to be released in +- 2 weeks.

What did we do this time?
Obviously we wouldn't release it unless we got 'the green light' that it is ready to go.
Maybe @Nallath's estimation was a bit off.
