  1. This is what I downloaded. Even more movement, experimenting and pioneering going on in the scannigworld than in 3D printers, so there might be more convenient/better solutions. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/kinectforwindowsdev/Downloads.aspx I had a Xbox sensor around, so used that one. has no USB connection, so needed a separate adapter. http://www.consolepro.nl/kinect-sensor-voeding-kabel-voor-xbox-360-p-791.html There is a USB Kinect available (without separate adapter) and a better resolution, some googeling needed for the costs. But be prepared for some pioneering with these kind off scanner's . Object has to stand still, no reflections, a steady hand and keep track of the cable. And you need something like meshmixer to clean up the messy Mesh files. Play some with the expert-settings in cura to get it printed. But a lot of fun for 100-200€
  2. Another addition, if possible, keep the motors locked, you have to be very careful not to move the printhead by accident.
  3. Some of my first tries, using a Xbox Kinect sensor, a 13€ usb adaptor to connect it to my laptop and a free download of windows Kinect sdk software.
  4. Hi, with a standard .4mm nozzle, I can print good 0.3 shell thickness lines/walls. In stl's walls have to be thicker than the in cura set shell thickness otherwise they will be skipped. Circular or curved lines have to be somewhat thicker, because of the 'facets' {resolution) in the design. for more detailed prints I use a 0.2 nozzle somewhere out of china I guess.
  5. Are the outer walls of the prints, sides top bottom, looking fine? Only a bad infill?
  6. That does not look like a 100% infill indeed. Are you sure your setting is at 100%? looks like 50 When using cura? it should be on the basic tab -> Fill density (%) 100. Otherwise it is under-extrusion, In the bottom of the basic tab, check if flow is at 100% and the diameter around 2.85. If that is correct, check/clean your nozzle and feeder.
  7. Check.. Thanks!! downloaded it, as a non nerd, I managed to do that and even tried it (without a printerattached, but with a dry gcode file) . Now we only need something or a way to use that print interface screen instead of the implemented one in Cura 14.03, I guess? and everyone happy again Would be nice if someone could give that a try, and document it a little for me and xeno and many others... everbody happy again?
  8. chips.. might post it in this topic as well  http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/4864-jog-and-homing/?p=42702
  9. Hi Harold, give it try! works well to make 10 coulour prints, for instance, pause the print, to fill something with sand, without something hitting your spoon....
  10. Anybody in for good news  ? Tried it this morning after reading some 14.03 Printmenu Posts and Usb printing works again!!!! In my case that was a few cura versions ago. Did not care to much for making a big study of it, since I have a Ulticontroller aswell. Using the USB cable is more convenient when printing a lot of smaller prints, then swapping the SD card every time. @Xeno, when cooled down a little You might want to reconsider the investment in a Ulticontoller, buying it was my best Upgrade ever!. Being able to switch on the TL light above the desk while printing again, without a ruined print for Instance. Switching of the UM1 with the powerswitch kills the blue LED. Haven't seen the latest printinterfaces, but adjusting the flow on the fly is a big pro for me. Changing filament while printing, with a push on the button! @Daid, Without swearing and yelling, not only you are a lot younger and some taller as I am , but more because it does not work that way. I hope it doesn't feel like a burden to you, but be aware there are still people out here who want to use a printer for printing. For you, sites like Github and such are a second nature, but for most people it's a nightmare. So I understand Xeno's frustration a bit, (iets genuanceerder mag wel), but a lot of people rely on you guys at Ultimaker to give them usable tools to work with. I don't mind waiting for updates, but please we need you guys to keep track of all plugins, scripts and .py shit to implement in cura (Like you did with TweakAtZ). Regards Kees prettig weekend!
  11. In the Ulticontroller Tune menu you could choose the change filament option, does the same, only it will retract aprox 6cm of filament as well, don't forget to extract it again by hand!!!. And be careful with the printhead, because it does not 'lock'! Does it Lock on the UM2? Regards Kees
  12. Hi, Pushing down the white clamp, while pulling the tube, should work for getting the tube out. Might need some force, Bowden tube might be grooved from the Bite The metal teeth 'Bite' only when you or the filament pull the tube. Pushing in should go easy, don't forget the 'horseshoe' to keep the clamp up. You might need the alankey (screw)driver to guide the tube in the white Teflon hole, Does not always line-up perfectly.
  13. Hi Guys, Reading this topic about P.I.D. values, power and temperatures, makes me wonder. I'm working with a lot of different UM originals lately, and I was wondering why aprox. half of them can't keep up the temperature to 225/230 when the original 'Origami' fan kicks in. Could It be there where some changes in parts specifications or those Firmware PID settings you refer to, in the last couple of months? Reading this topic gives me the idea it might be possible to change those settings in the ulticontroller to get more power to the hotend? Any of you walking encyclopaedia, knows if its possible, safe and witch ones to change. Regards Kees
  14. OMG . The first serious direct answer on one of my questions/requests. Thanks!!! Looks impressive . I will give it a try, when I've figured out how to get it in my printer... The answer on, How to?, will be here on the forums I guess.
  15. Woohw................ Aaron, Congratulations with the UM2 Birth!!!! Hope it was worth the waiting....
  16. Cant wait to give it try , Would be nice to try and get some decent clean dual colour prints out. Combining materials and using support Pva works fine. I have the cura support not under control yet, but drawing your own and use it like you would use a second colour , is a good workaround for now.
  17. Hi All, The corner could use some reorganization and cleaning up  But I guess the shirt counts for 2 stickers?
  18. Hi Xeno, here in Tilburg we have Piet Knowledge on the Korvelseroad, ( A.k.a. Piet Kennis), most electronic shops will have them I guess, or Conrad?. Take care with the dimensions. Check for yourself on the counter, or the datasheet online. Some confusion.. 40mm FanHole, 40 mm Oustside square, 40mm square boltpattern? Took me two ride's to get the right ones :(..
  19. Hi. Running a UM2 might give you a different layout but for Um org. it is in the basic tab at the bottom left. It's easier to turn up the Flow on the ulticontroller and see what happens. If It is a UM1.
  20. Not my happy corner. But for sure A HAPPY corner Today at RapidPro
  21. Well, since making outdoor lights, I can tell you some things, I found out.... Not all pla's are sunlight resistant, after some months they might turn pale. Don't use black or dark coloured pla, even in the sparse dutch sunlight it gets to hot and becomes soft. Moisture gets in between the layers, so turns green after a while. What works for me is to put your product in a varnish? Colourless paint for a day. Regards Kees
  22. Hi.. Until now did not have any trouble with diameters ( or I did not notice them ) Difference from one roll to the other is easy corrected with changing the flow on the fly. I am more concerned in the material itself. Would like to see some better coding of the material. Even when buying PLA from the same supplier, you never now what you get until you try it, perhaps buying 10 rolls at once might help to be sure it's the same batch, but I only need 1 a month :(. Would be nice if it was more standardized, like steel, or industrial plastics, so you know what you buy. For example I use a 2.3Kg roll of grey PLA, for almost a year now, and still flexible. from the same supplier some white pla rolls, brake overnight while in the printer?
  23. Great Stone! Nice Movie!! wich recording software did you use?
