Hi Bob, perhaps you found it somewhere else, but you can change the startup g-code at the script tab. Make sure to take the first process, in the 4th line the E value is extruded length. The annoyingly slow speed to the startposition is in the 2nd line the F value. Although... on a UM2 it might be different

Hi Martijn, you might see aaron in NewYork. Please remember to talk him into organizing a next MPC!!! A couple of post earlier he more a less resigned

Ho ho aaron, I'm bad with regulations  , but mine was official :-P . Perhaps this challenge was a little hard, even to get the big size rolling? I Could not match-up with the small size of Sander's submission though, Perhaps because of some Ice-bucket challenge . So I think the winner is Sander, ( if he did not use the R&D department? ). It's a shame it's the last one :(. but thanks for starting it!!!!. Although I do hope you come up with another one!

How to reduce the resolution(no. of facets/faces) in a mesh
3dcase replied to yellowshark's topic in UltiMaker 3D printers
Perhaps I don't understand your question. But I am 99,9% sure, that a professional CAD system like Solidworks, gives you a choice or options on how to calculate your STL -
Ha Die sander, dat gaat rap!!! kunnen we eindelijk de praat praten die we praten willen .

Hi Sander, Would be a good idea i guess!! Like french german and italian on the mainpage. I spoke and read people who buy a Ultimaker because it's a dutch product, And wonder why they have to learn English. For most Young and/or technical people no problem, but still people around who rather write in Dutch. Would not hurt to give it a try, IMHO. Your busy enough I guess, so I volunteer as moderator if one is needed

Hi all... Here is my attempt. Official Print Submission = "Submission" sorry, finally read the regulation The smallest working one is 20mm.It took a few prints but this one finally works. I've used the standard stl, I personally think it's a printing challenge and no engineering or redesigning challenge. And used a standard 0.4 nozzle. Might give it try with a 0.2 nozzle though... But that wouldnt be fair for the UM2 printers edit.. Glad its note a film making challenge ...

oeps.. thought it could be possible cura handled Sd files differently than streaming USB files  . This gcode i made on a laptop, win7. on a older desktop running vista, same thing. screenshot from cura, you have to believe me, that i saw the white calculating bar move, when changing the height value. after saving, the gcode looks like the other picture... update: it looks to me, (in my greasemonkey's words) that some cura settings are remembered in a tempfile somewhere or in memory? or something is adjusted in the gcode endfiles.. A few prints later, after printing the software seems to think the 190 190 coordinates are the homing position, at least it stops there. visually on cura screen, I checked the plug in field is empty I see if I can get it to that again, and when

From the sd card I tried printing, that went wrong so I looked at the gcode. I can give it a try to print by USB cable and see what happens. I would like running it from sd card though, 1 print I can pause by hand, but I have to do 30.

Goodmorning... can someone help me out on the Pause at height plugin that comes with cura 14.07? The only height I can get it working is the standard/default height of 5.0 mm. No matter what I tried, it only inserts the pause code around height 5. If I set the height at 3mm, cura starts recalculating, but keeps writing the 'Custom' marked code at around 5. I tried saving the profile with the 3.2mm height I want it to pause. Reload it and the Height is 5 again. So cura (imho) forgets to look at the plug in. Who knows what to do,try ore where to find a alternative. Regards Kees

Flexible shaft - the best of both worlds?
3dcase replied to foehnsturm's topic in Third party products & modifications
Don't tell anyone.. ssstt.. -
Hi, the feature will be new for the UM-original, for the UM2 its standard since the release. So no need to wait buying a UM2

Big brother is watching... No comment , other than the 3mm Z-pitch banding is gone. (not only because of a different pitch) but a more sturdy platform and better guidance

Haha, took a while for someone to notice that HBKit..... :-P Did not sign any non-disclosure as far as I remember... Just common sense to keep my mouth shut about the details I guess. Would not mind to do some more beta testing..... But euhmm. main components... most important; glass, a few clips to keep the it in place and a lot of aluminium. But no Z-stage rods.... As said above it's worth the waiting ...

Flexible shaft - the best of both worlds?
3dcase replied to foehnsturm's topic in Third party products & modifications
I guess it's a pretty smart idea to use a flexible shaft (like the one driving your speed and tacho gauge on a motorbike), to keep the steppermotor stationary and away from the printhead to reduce the mass. When supplied with the gears and bearings and printable printhead. It's worth the try . -
Don't tell anyone.... :???:. But I hope I'm allowed to tell its worth waiting for another month... No idea about the final pricing. But its well engineered!! 2.5 to 3 hours building time. No special tools (wood-drill included ), no soldering and resistors needed. Install the (bugfree) firmware, and startprinting. And old UM1 Z-stage problems are gone.

In my setup, laptop+win7+cura14.07, panning is Shift and right mouse button.. Wanted to quout, but last weeks update to IE11 stole the Quote option on this forum :???:
