1. It's funny to keep seeing these zombiUltibot's rise from certain ultimakers. Luckily there's an easy fix, but first you have to find it. @SandervG, perhaps an Idea to try and recreate the problem(I believe changing Zaccel and such in FW once on UMO before upgrading HBK can cause it, atleast in my case.). Next write a support page and make sure it's easily found by the search/mentioned in the newer versions of the HBK pdf in a FAQ section?
2. I wasn't saying I wasn't thinking about it Just that an UM2 owner should get the prize!
3. Out of curiosity I tried to look for it in the Dutch Resellers, couldn't find it though.
4. I guess this one is pretty much for UM2 owners (again) Good luck out there.
5. If you can get your hands on a doodle3d to borrow too: http://www.doodle3d.com/
6. Was looking for an old picture I uploaded. After I found the topic(see search engine topic), the picture was not showing: https://ultimaker.com/en/community/9189-um2-nozzle-deteriorating-and-desintegrating#reply-77991 Just showing: Seems like there's still pictures that didnt make the transfer :( Edit, a quick google shows more: https://www.google.nl/search?q=ultimaker+[sharedmedia%3Dgallery:images:&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=XPjWVp3DEojm6ATsgbeAAg
7. I thought it was working better, but can't find the topic were someone posted about glowfill destroying a nozzle. I remember uploading pictures there of my nozzle. Tried: glowfill nozzle Titus(nothing) glowfill nozzle(only one, not the topic I was looking for) glowfill(3 topics on glowfill now, still no cigar) glow fill(nop nothing at all) Google: "Ultimaker glowfill nozzle". First hit: https://ultimaker.com/en/community/9189-um2-nozzle-deteriorating-and-desintegrating
8. Really old topic, but never showed the result Boiling water+flat table+4 hours time => Flat enough surface to glue! Submerge in boiling water until somewhat soft, then press on the flat table. Results: And when the lights go out:
9. I'd say you can print at a lower temperature also. This leaves the material cooler to start with. Possibly when you go lower you might also need to go a little slower
10. Got a few ghost notifications again today. Also what is up with this white space and stuff BlackBerry z10. Also can't seem to close the menu once I open it.
11. I think everyone is upset due to the crazy margin, and the fact that they use the original screenshots. If I were to charge that through a hub, everyone would think the client would be stupid. On eBay I would be a villain. One of their points about making it avaliable for all is valid, we all want that(if you post on thingiverse) We would be OK with it printed on hubs, as the user would pick it, and the margin is acceptable most of the time. For example, a roommate wanted a Nike of Samothrake for her study in archeology, in colorfabb blueish white, she paid for the roll, leftovers was my "payment". Is that NC or C? It's the scale, purpose, and margin that determine if we the ok with this. If we'd follow NC strictly, I'd say it limits us all, designers, Ultimaker, in the end us owners that just want to print something cool.
12. I think this makes for an interesting discussion. -These guys take models, print them and sell them. -3D hubs get send models, print them, and get money for their effort/plastic. Are the two different? Well they advertise differently, that's for sure(they even sell things based on Thingiverse screenshots). But is every 3Dhubs owner checking copyright and refusing to print something? Isn't a customer of 3D hubs simply paying your plastic and expertise and time, rather than the model? Would it be different if someone walked up to you and said, can I borrow your printer for 3 hours, oh and your plastic, and can you help me? I'll pay you for it!
13. I still think the button post reply should be called edit post, when you are editing a post. I freak out thinking I'm about to double post every time.
14. it is kinda working now. Tumbler: https://ultimaker.com/search?keyword=tumbler&category=0&type=2 It gives a few topics yes, then the usual crap like https://ultimaker.com/en/community/10260-ultimaker-forum That REALLY shouldnt show up anymore. Any topic that does not have the keyword is useless. Limiting to 3 results is better, leading to people using different keywords, rather than get lost and frustrated in the unrelated topics. BUT I am still missing out on the important bronzefill topic(not 100% sure tumbler was mentioned there, but I thought so)
15. I like the idea, but don't bite off more than you can chew. A good forum section will allow this partially and enough for starters. I would invest time in fixing things like speed and try to get some people back that would thrive in this section. That being said, I don't see another solution than a good forum, with tons of plugins to render 3d parts for easy showing and sharing of ideas of hardware. The rest can be done by images etc. And add a section called projects where there is like a more dedicated clean page for each project linked to the forum topic, but not cluttered with comments. Kinda like a micro blog/tutorial. And it has to be moderated, from the topics in the hacker section. So not everyone opens a project.
16. It happens with more topics. But not always.
17. ok strange stuff. I get a notification for you post @SandervG, I click it, read it. Then go to 'all unread topics'. This topic is still there. Perhaps part of the ghost notifications?
18. It has the carbon inserts for added strength, but yeah, difficult choice
19. On facebook Ultimaker linked to a Dutch tv show where they showed a 3d printed violin. Now there have been others before, mainly electric ones, but this one looked quite printable Had a go at google and found the original site: http://www.hovalin.com/make/ I must say, I am SO tempted to try to make this. Not sure what material yet though, carbon, woodfill, or just a PLA/nGen/XT(and which color)
20. I've had the same. The only solution is to unhook the power supply from the printer itself. Probably the voltage converter, but yeah, annoying
21. @Yellowshark, Thanks for the detailed write up. Are you running on an UMO or UM2? Also I was wondering, could it be because I down scaled the model to 0.75?
22. We've seen cases where something went wrong: https://ultimaker.com/en/community/17376-heated-bed-official-kit-stretched-z Not sure why, probably on printers where people tinkered with Zaccel.
23. Edit: This post now serves as guide for others with the same problem. Skip down for solution Hi all, Today I wanted to check for firmware updates/reload firmware to get default accelerations values(in case that was causing the print trouble). I also wanted to level my bed using Cura. But, couldn't connect to printer. My computer made the hardware connected sound, it shows in device manager, but my UMO never did the Bzzzt + white squares routine it does when connected over USB. Tried multiple computers, multiple cables, different Cura versions, nothing. Troubleshooting pages on the site suggested taking Arduino off the shield. Didn't help either. The Arduino Mega 2560 (COM3) shows in Device monitor. Uninstalled drivers, reinstalled using Cura. Went for manual firmware upload through Arduino IDE, it sees COM3, it recognizes Arduino Mega 2560, but when uploading, error: avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\\.\COM3": The device is not connected. avrdude: ser_drain(): read error: The handle is invalid. The thing is, my printer actually still "works". But I just want it to be able to talk to my computer. I know I can level using other ways, but for firmware updates, Protoface UI testing etc etc. I searched the forum, and the internet, found different topics of people who seem to have bricked their Arduino, but nothing similar. Help! EDIT Ofcourse a minute later I find this post with some random procedure that works.... I suspect somehow somewhere something was mysteriously also occupying COM3. HOWEVER, it was also the case on my laptop, which makes me think it was something inside the Arduino. Though I have no clue what it could be. Anyway, I followed the procedure and picked a high number @ step 8. Now Cura talked to the Arduino and I could upload firmware etc. 1. device manager 2. select ports 3. select port of arduino board examle : com1 ... com3 whatever it is 4. right click on com. 5. select properties 6. tab- port settings 7. click advanced 8. com port number- select new port number that is not in use. 9. confirm..
