  1. That goes away by itself, when the back wall is scrapped away
  2. Yeah, if you can get one that you have to solder yourself, that's an option to test. But I wouldn't assume it has the same performance without testing. The problem of the original ones is that shipping is 10 euro
  3. I kept getting error messages and instead use the webchat.freenode.net Today it didn't timeout on the UM site, so that's why I posted it. Sander told me it was up for a while already indeed.
  4. Chat is now working again: https://ultimaker.com/en/community/chat
  5. This is working https://ultimaker.com/en/community/chat
  6. I might still want to do this: https://ultimaker.com/en/community/11571-step-by-step-installation-of-silentstepstick-drivers-on-umo
  7. UMO feeder is sufficient right, UM2s wasn't always. I think that is the most important part of th upgrade kit, together with Olsson block, which is also not really needed on UMO. Only the fan shroud could be hacked, but given the difference sizes of the hot ends, that will be really tricky.
  8. So I printed the same parts, now with 0% infill, 190C, and 35mm/s, fan at 100% The top layers are a little bit nicer, less blobbing(probably due to lower temp), but I still get some strange wall structure, or overhang trouble.
  9. I have a few ideas, but they might require a little thinkering. -Hm, those new couplers are UM2 only right? Otherwise you could make like a little bundle with Olsson nozzles(they fit in UMO right?) and a coupler. -Let people create their own spare part package, like pick 2/3 out of: nozzles, bowden, glass, sensor. -Also, lately I've seen a lot of people wanting to go dual fan on UMO(+). Perhaps a fan package with mount/design to print. Can be either another stock fan with the right cables to plug in two + mount. Or if you want to go fancy use those UM2 fans(not sure about voltage/power), with a new fan shroud? -I've seen people also interested in the silent chop drop in replacements for more silent printing. Especially the last two are fueled from my own wishes But I'm serious about the idea. If I'm interested, more people are, perhaps with a little market research, some R&D, you can create some fancy upgrade love me, feed me, never leave me packages for UMOs? Just like the extruder upgrade for UM2. New from Ultimaker: -Print extra details with the improved dual fan kit! Available Q2 2016 for just €XX -Want to work next to your printer? Make it super stealthy and release the printing ninja in you, stepper driver upgrade for €XX, coming Q2 2016
  10. Nooo @SandervG Will there be an UMO(+) type of prize too
  11. @SandervG, perhaps the ghost notifications aren't ghost ones, they are actual ones pointing to wrong topics. That would explain the ghost notifications, and the missing ones? Just a hunch, now Labern confirms he is also missing notifications for some posts.
  12. Hi @SandervG, First of all I want to thank you for your reply, and excuse myself for my own post. The tone might have been to negative/aggressive. I tend to be very direct in my opinions and might not always acknowledge my appreciation for your patience and your work(both your and your colleagues') I will update you on your post tonight when I have more time, in the mean time however, another thing that annoys me :PIt might be solved by the speed issue, not sure: It takes a while to load all the photo's or something. Now I have to guess which picture it is I want to add. Also I want to be able to add more than 1 picture at the same time
  13. @cloakfiend, thanks for replying, I will try the 0 % infill, but with a higher top thickness, otherwise I'm afraid it won't close nicely. I'll also try to print more than two at once. And even slower and lower temperature. Here are the pictures from the finished print of today. I still notice blobbing, and also strange shapes in the wall:
  14. Dear community, It's been a while I opened a new topic, I've slipped in questions in other topics etc, but with the troubles this print is giving me I thought it might be good for a topic/blog kinda thing. Questions or notes will be introduced by a '-' Model: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:253934 Based on: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:243278 I'm printing it at .75 scale, because I was short on red, though I might have to buy new red anyway. Basic settings I'm using: 0.1mm layer height for details 1.2mm top/bot thickness to make sure the top is nicely closed 0.8mm shell for 0.4mm nozzle 50mm/s Speed, slower than I usually print at 80 215C nozzle temperature for ColorFabb Red/blueish grey PLA 55C Heated bed temperature for bed adhesion So far I've printed the white parts from this picture. Note, this is NOT my print but the picture from Thingiverse: The base without trouble, the gears without trouble too. -The axle however didn't fit in the holes. So I had to print it at .65 scale or something in order for it to actually fit. This is a reoccurring problem with prints that have to be assembled. I just can't print them so it fits. Many people suggested to create the parts with extra margin etc. But since I didn't create this model and many other people seem successfully printing it, I can't help but think the problem is at my end. I had the bottom layer set to 0.3mm still by accident. I made that 0.2mm, but yeah. -When printing the heart base I used the pause on height trick to swap filament, which I learned during the Print Challenges. Super happy with that!!!! However during the red print I noticed a lot of blobbing as can be seen in this image(was also posted in latest print). It seems z hop on retraction was causing it. I've set that to 0 now. - Now I've started the heart itself. I didn't dare to print all parts at once, mainly due to the lack of sufficient red pla. But that is also a reoccurring theme. I want to be able to fill up the bed and just print! But somehow I believe that messes up prints, and print 1 part at a time. Will investigate and try later. But do you guys print 1 part at a time, and start a new part manually each time, or just fill up the bed? -I don't know why, but it seems like I'm getting high under extrusion on this part. I tried it separate, and now with another part at the same time. Or it might be something else, I just don't know. Temperature should be high enough, filament is not grinding. The print is retraction heavy as can be seen in cura/heard. Retraction settings are 4.5mm at 45mm/s I really don't know what is going on here, or why I just can't get it to work. The only thing I can think of is: -The model(retractions) -The material I'll try to print one of these parts in white tonight, but I'm just clueless.
  15. @SandervG, since you are asking for feedback I'll post some things when I think of them here: -Search, I still use google, since the in site one just doesn't work. The new users, the target audience of this whole overhaul, WONT. They use the site search and can't find what they are looking for. Either they give up(you lose them), or they post ridiculous topics with questions answered ten times already(you lose power users). My advise: replace the search with a google in site search until yours actually works. It's fugly as hell, but atleast it works. -Typing posts. I still can't scroll up or down in my text window. Instead it scrolls the entire page. Even when drag selecting text I can't scroll. I have to use the arrow keys instead. This was an issue when we went into community tests after the alpha forum was released. We had several bugs(non scaling, not scaling back etc). But it still doesn't work and irritates me. It seems to be the case when having less than X lines. 15 hard returns I think. -Gamification. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I don't see why you even would want to implement this. What is the next step, send Ulti-ville invites to friends for points? The points don't make sense, the names neither(new people may think the Cura Commander people are actual Cura devs/hero's for example). The badges, meh. Just meh. Does it hurt? Well yeah, seeing this implemented (badly) while other pretty crucial bugs weren't/aren't fixed is not nice. Also my example with misleading titles etc. My advise: remove it all together. Just don't go there. -Filters Yeah you can filter(I now have a filter set to all unread topics. This gives me a long list of growing unread topics. I have no clue of context whatsoever. Was this posted in the general/maintenance/troubleshoot? Also, when I want to go back to normal view, I have to DELETE my filter. I can't just switch it on and off. I have to reset all options etc. That's why I never do it. I said this before and your answer was that it wouldn't cost so much effort that I reset the filter, so no use in changing anything if I recall correctly. Again I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I used to see which sub fora had a new post(just a simple blue bar would do like in the topic view). -Random stuff How can it be that I have topics that I follow, that have 1 unread post? I always open all notifications. This topic had a post 3 days ago but there is no notification in my bell menu: https://ultimaker.com/en/community/11571-step-by-step-installation-of-silentstepstick-drivers-on-umo?page=3#unread This kind of stuff makes us miss important topics. Ok I've made a screen shot with a view I normally don't have, but to illustrate what can be improved. Again I must say that most of these were already mentioned by many people. -Blue bars to mark unread topics. I just can't see what is unread, except to look in casual text all the way to the right(I read left to right, not the other way around), see red cross Can you explain why the text in the orange circle is there, taking up so much horizontal space? What is the significance of that text? Wouldn't it be better to make it just a Horizontal Separator? And move the topics to the left. It's more intuitive that way. This is the only forum I know where there is something before the topics. What to fill the now free space to the right with? No clue. -Orange ?????? I believe that's a topic I read. And that the place to click to go to the last post is there. That's what the little thing before the topic title used to do/is normally used to do. Now there is a picture there and I can see your photo to know you made the topics. But given that a huge amount of users has a simple letter there, it is useless. Who is S? Or which S is it? Also I recognize perhaps 5 or 6 photo's, at that size. -New topic button I still disagree with leaving the type of topic like this. Set it to regular standard, and let users change it if they want to. Or just get rid of the question/idea topics all together. You can't sort on questions, because you might miss a question in a regular topic. So that is kinda useless. When I press the new topic button in that view, it automatically selects my highest topic, being Hardware>Modifications and Hacks. Why? Actually, why would there be a new topic button in that view anyway? I have to go now. But just another idea, I believe you guys took notes when you visited us. Perhaps it's valuable to look at those again and see how far you've gotten now. I explained my workflow, my feelings etc. Others probably did too. Most of these comments in this post were in there too.
  16. I was recently thinking about how I'm using the forum nowadays. I can't even believe it has been this long! I check a few times a day still, only I check if there is a reply in like 10 topics I'm following. I can't remember what I was following before, and the forum didn't remember either. I used to check all unread topics. Read most of them, now I just check a few and read 1 or 2. I've also been missing a few of the frequent posters(or I miss their posts, which is also very likely) like Korneel, Olsson, Blizz, etc I'm glad I'm printing something for valentine now, because I also rarely print something anymore. I have the idea that the forum was inspiring that more than it is now, or again I might be missing the inspiring topics. I do like the challenges for that reason though!! Kind unfiltered post, lots of assumptions that might not be true. No constructive feedback, just feelings.
  17. So I started this print: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:253934 It really is an amazing model I've wanted to try for a long time First I ran into some trouble getting the axle to fit in the gears(had to print a scaled down axle to get it working), but on my first real heart piece(dual color trick with pause on z ) I encountered heavy blobbing, something I haven't had before: First time ColorFabb Red PLA, but other ColorFabb materials never blobbed either. I turned down the temperature to 190C, but that didn't solve it. I noticed the bed was wiggling up and down, probably due to a 0.2mm zhop when retracting(not sure why I set it to that at some point). I might try to reduce that back to 0.075. Any other ideas to reduce the blobbing? Post processing will only solve it so far, and I don't have a lot of Red left to experiment with :(
  18. Unscrew the four screws until you can move the brown PEEK part. Make sure not to break your wires by giving them enough space/using another hole to go through.
  19. @LePaul, if your HBK is giving you trouble, put tape on the glass, and set the temperature to 0. Then you can print like you are used to. Alternatively, try to use lower temperatures without tape(30-40C). I believe you can power a 3wired fan with just + and -, atleast that's what I did during some testing
  20. That's one of the things I like about the Olsson nozzle set It has numbers on the nozzles. Sometimes I forget what drilled out nozzle I have in my UMO. Luckily I mainly print .4
  21. I click the sign up now button, and then there's a second tab in the popup: login instead. Workarround for now
  22. I'm surprised so many people state you have to relevel every print. Once I got the hang of leveling with a thin piece of paper, I haven't leveled for months, except when I move the printer. Even after taking the glass out and cleaning it I don't need a relevel.
  23. But but but, in general people dislike poor JarJar. Are you saying people will dislike UM2+ ?
  24. Windows 10, latest Firefox, dm should give specifics.
