  1. Will there be anyone present that can possibly take my stone from project EGG and give it to anyone involved? Or is it better that I mail it?
  2. @Leon: cool. Last time I was the only person with an UM2, glad that I won't be this time (Felt a bit singled out )
  3. Hope it's not a disk-space issue, those are nasty
  4. Does the piece that you are printing require a lot of retraction? Because a lot of retraction, perhaps combined with a slightly too high tension on the feeder spring, can cause the filament to be flattened out. If that happens it might get too wide to fit in the bowden tube, get stuck and them get ground by the knurled wheel.
  5. The teflon parts seem to be one of the more sensitive things of the printers in general, which is why I asked for least 1 spare for my UM2
  6. Didier that would be awesome. @Labem: I find that cable fairly expensive and bulky and I don't feel like ordering the original flat cable from the US either. Printing a case is still my preferred solution
  7. @Alex_3d: Thanks for making me feel like a n00b again. Unbelievably awesome!
  8. Yeah that's what I assumed. Damn, I wish I still wouldn't get it, now I'm all enthusiastic about it!
  9. Okay my Euro just dropped... This is actually a printhead with a feeder on top of it but the feeder is driven remotely by the flexible shaft. Pretty nifty. How does it behave for flexible filaments? Should be pretty awesome, no?
  10. To my shame I have to admit I still don't have a clue. :???:
  11. Ian we aren't losing you are we? How can we get you addicted again?!? On topic: Nice print!
  12. No problem, all we can do is ask I won't enjoy the evening any less because of it.
  13. @Dirkels: I was thinking exactly the same thing
  14. Sander: Would it be possible perhaps to bring some UM2 spare parts? I'd love a spare teflon. Obviously I will pay for it in cash. Also I was promised a replacement fan for the right side fan (per BCE-717-50275) but I haven't heard anything anymore. Perhaps it was a misunderstanding but it would be nice to get rid of the whining sound.
  15. I guess I'll be driving to Utrecht again the 25th. Awesome
  16. Very original post you did there
  17. This was made in sketchup: I've never seen this before I started using non-UM filament. Unfortunately at that time I was also using an Mk8 wheel for the feeder with the e-steps value I read in the forum (365). As I haven't tested what the correct value should be on my printer it could also have been some sort of overextrusion.
  18. Matt is that ultimaker pla or something else? I have exactly the same problem with plastic I bought from another manufacturer.
  19. PLA.. But no issues here so far. I broke the arm on my first one, but since Robert modified the model to print the arm in the other direction things are fine. I did print a second copy of everything as a spare, but that's just because I like having spare parts, not because I'm expecting it will break
  20. I'm trying to print this: As you can see it has a very narrow base so I need a brim to better attach it: Unfortunately it has a small piece that also needs support. However, if I enable both brim and support, the brim no longer touches the model: I have to print it without support to make it work. It's not a disaster in this case as it turns out fairly nice, but I just wanted to report it.
  21. I just want to make this clear (in case it wasn't already): I don't blame you guys for anything. I really appreciate the awesome work you guys do and what a challenge these things are. I just am generally disappointed, pretty much for all the reasons Labern mentioned. I wanted the second nozzle to be able to print materials that required a bigger nozzle hole and to be able to print PVA as support (I guess everyone does?). The fact that this will be (much?) later than planned is a bit of a let down, but won't stop me personally from enjoying my UM2 and the stuff I can make with it So I prefer a working solution rather than a "get it right now but you have to mess around all the time" solution
  22. That is pretty unfortunate. The fact that the kit was announced for "around july" was the final decision point for me to buy an UM2. Guess we'll have to wait as there is little else to do.
  23. Robert, I think the problem for me personally is mainly the yoke. I probably have to try that longer yoke. I have to tighten it to the limit to with the MK8
  24. The diameter difference between the original wheel and the MK8 is about a mm (but I'd have to remove the original again for a precise measurement). So in theory everything would have to move + 0.5mm
