  1. Robert: Did anything change compared to the test I printed?
  2. Yeah I have laywoo-d3 here but until I can get my hands on a nozzle with a bigger hole in I'm not going to risk it. Your experience only strengthens that idea. Looking great though
  3. If you plan on using Roberts, make sure to use the last version (5)
  4. jtschichold: I've had the same thing happen to me, lookout for version 5, Robert improved a lot on that one. The arm is now printed lying down, which makes the seams go over the length and rendering it a lot stronger. Been running the new version since he posted the link to the testing version without issues.
  5. Yeah I did indeed. Although depending on the print I sometimes have to modify the material flow to 99% for a bit because of very slight over-extrusion. But it works correctly more than not, so I guess 365 is a good value for me. I saw that EldRick is using 340, don't know how that is working for him.
  6. Yeah good thing. They are pretty quickly with their replies and they've always attempted to really help me, not just a template response (as they should for that amount of money!)
  7. Didier: But I already have all colors I want at this point Perhaps for the next Ulti-Evening we can start some kind of "poll" on what parts would be wanted and they could bring them. People should be required to bring exact cash to avoid difficulties in that department. Dunno if that is a good idea? Like I said: I'd like at least a spare teflon coupler (preferably the new series )
  8. Hmm, I use S3D as well and I've only had the Z-axis problem with that option ticked off. S3D support also confirmed me that that was indeed the issue. Haven't had any behaviour like that with the option enabled.
  9. I was wondering: Are you guys planning to do meetings or so? Because I'm really interested in a better way to hold the filament and so on, but I don't want to modify the printer beyond the point that I can just pick it up and take it with me.
  10. I don't know what I could contribute, but if the distance allows it and you're looking for more people, I'd really like to participate as well
  11. It's because you turned of the "Update machine definition using settings below" in the advanced settings under G-Code. You really should leave that enabled in S3D, unless you want to grind more teeth
  12. I am using the MK8 gear but I'm using Roberts feeder. If it just appears not to get a grip on the filament (as in: you barely see teeth marks in the filament) it might be that you have to up the tension (there's a small screw on top of the feeder for that). But like gr5 said: Make sure its not grinding or that there is something else wrong (ie if you hear a "ploing" sound once in a while it's the feeder skipping backwards because of too much pressure)
  13. Pretty awesome shit Arjan! But I have to agree with the rest: Your mods... brr It's almost printenstein edit: Before I give anyone the wrong impression - this is meant as a compliment Frankenstein was a brilliant scientist but everyone associates the reference with the monster. I do not! Someone needs to do the strange experiments to make progress and that is what I was referring to. I wouldn't dare to modify my printer like that, kudos
  14. Hehe I recognise myself about 2 months ago You really can't look at a 3D printer like a regular printer where you just change the toner and paper and keep your hands of the rest. It is a hands-on device. I don't even think the UM warranty is a "full machine" warranty but on all the pieces separately, so as long as you're careful to not break anything by being ignorant, you should be more than fine. The feeder has like 4 or 5 components in it so it's fairly easy to take it apart if you take your time to see where everything goes. Worst case scenario you can download the assembly manual to put it back together.
  15. I saw someone with http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:399284 where the filament was never moved and just used from where it was stored. Now I don't know how feasible this is in your case, but what about getting a rod through all the filaments in your box and somehow (without compromising humidity I presume) guiding it from in the box to your UM2?
  16. If there was enough interest from people "around" we could do a bulk buy I really like to have a couple spare parts in house (like the teflon piece etc)
  17. I was considering ordering a bunch of parts and just driving there to pick them up. Wonder if that would be a possibility
  18. Confirmed. It works again on next.
  19. @Didier it took more than a month for my stickers to arrive so you might get yours any day
  20. @Didier I haven't had any orders either. You get the stickers if you print their "Marvin" for them to review. If you did that it might've been a recent change. Cool that you liked the meeting, perhaps I'll overcome my fear next time
  21. Won't those become "underhangs"? As in they droop down? Or perhaps the re-melting when the nozzle touches it for the next layer will be good enough to push it in place along the way.. hmmm
  22. IC. Haven't had much warping so far. Then again, I only have PLA. Would love some ABS as I have a couple pieces to print that have to be more temperature resistent but we don't have enough airflow in the room where the printer is now and I don't want the house smelling like burnt plastic
  23. Small question: why would you replace the heated glass on an UM2 with this? Not just because it's easier to get the prints off? If I let it cool down they're just coming off without resistance.
  24. Haven't heard of yet so I looked it up. I don't think it will be very interesting for me as I haven't had a single order yet since I signed up. The interest in this neighborhood in 3d printing is not very big.
  25. While enjoying my COFFEE I thought about something I got in the mail this week that I wanted to show. I signed up @ 3D Hubs pretty much the day after I got my UM2 and did their testprint to get a rating. This week there was this envelope in my mailbox that had the following in it: Dunno what you guys think but I find it pretty awesome (I got multiples of everything but it's not really needed to photograph all of the right)
