  1. 1.75? Adaptaste la impresora o lo utilizaste con el sistema de origen para 2.85mm?
  2. Your telling me " een paar maanden" ? and a "paar" is 2 :LOL I hear what you are saying, but I already delayed the purchase for 2 months, and I have to make the decision this week :( Guess I am going to be one of those buyers, that reads about the new UM3 weeks after buying the UM2's Maybe if you are willing to buy more than X printers you can talk with Ultimaker and ask them for their opinion as it is a big investment. I don't think it will work, but maybe you talk with an intern and it tells you everything!
  3. (sorry for the amount of GIFs, it's the easiest way to communicate on weekends)
  4. Which was the biggest 3D printing company there in number of printers? Maybe it was more focused for users who are really into DIY printers. Anything interesting besides the lack of Ultimaker printers?
  5. The UMO's feeder noise level is way too high, mostly due to to the wooden frame. I tried to reduce some noise with feets or adapters printed with flexible material. In the end I just changed the regular geared feeder with the UM2 feeder (or Robert's feeder), and today I installed the E3D Titan. I like this last one as it's almost as small as the UM2 feeder but it's geared, so the stepper motor and the filament suffer a little bit less.
  6. I've been struggling with my modded UMO+ and the feeder this week, and I checked all the alternatives I have to the UM2 feeder I have installed in my UMO+. As @neotko suggested, @bondtech will the 2.85mm double gears be available as spare parts in the future? I'd really want to get them and mod them with the parts available to keep the feeder as small as possible but with a high grip!
  7. As @meduza said, a lot of things are involved when changing the filament diameter setup. The easiest way to see it are all the profiles in Cura for all the filaments and nozzle diameters for the Ultimaker 2. Yes, all those variations are just for changing the nozzle size, not the filament, so imagine if you could insert any kind of filament you want. However, I love the idea of using any kind of filament, but the most reliable path in the long term would be to gather all the manufacturers and make them vote for 1.75mm or 3mm filament diameter.
  8. I really like what BCN3D and BQ have done with their printers, using a standard A4 size as a printing bed surface. I understand that creating an Ultimaker 2 Extended was easier if they added some more cm in the Z axis, but I'd have like it if it was in the X axis.
  9. I'd go for silent motor drivers in the future, not exchangeable, but in the UM2 board. That could have been a cool thing to implement in the UM2+, although the upgrade kit's price would have been much higher.
  10. As someone who lives in a very small appartment in Paris, the feature I'd like the most is a silent printer. I already have an UMO+ and an UM2+. The noise level difference between those two printers is very big as the UMO+'s plywood frame amplifies the noise, but I think there is still room for improvement in terms of making the printer a little bit more quiet. A top and front cover would help a lot, but I'd go for the motor drivers/mechanical parts upgrade, as that's the only way to improve that. But, however, I don't think this is a priority. Better printing quality (dual extrusion for PVA support) and reliability are the most important things at this moment, and I guess Ultimaker is ulti-focused on those two things.
  11. Go for the UM2+ Extended. I upgraded my Ultimaker 2 and it was a completely different machine. Printing quality didn't improve too much as it was already really good, but in terms of reliability there was a great improvement, which will save me a lot of hours (dis)assembling the printer to do some maintenance.
  12. How many hamsters are necessary to run the new printer? I want to build an eco-friendly power plant for this printer!
  13. When Cura 2.0 was released I tried it one afternoon and it was so complex (compared to the old Cura) that I gave up really fast. This week I've finally moved from Cura 15.04 to Cura 2.1.3 and I must that I hadn't seen such an improvement in printing quality since installing the Upgrade kit on the UM2. Also, reliability and printing quality in my old Prusa i3 is crazy now! Thank you very much @nallath and all the team behind for keeping it that awesome! Also, one small question. Is the option "split object into parts" available? If not, will it be available in the future?
  14. Hi! There are different possible reasons why this happens. Share some pictures of the design and I'm sure we can solve it. Also, as there are so many things to take into account, it would be necessary to know the material, temp and speed you're printing with. What you're describing reminds me when I print really small design where the printhead doesn't let the plastic cool down, deforming the shape. If that's the problem, know that the solution to that is available in Cura (it was called "Cool head lift" in Cura 15.04).
  15. I run Windows 10 and although I could download Cura 2.1.3 with no problem, when trying to install a pop up showed up and told me there may be a virus inside the program. Still installed, but maybe is now in control of my computer. Who knows.
  16. The economical way would be to change the fan shroud and keep everything else original. If you have some more money, I would totally recommend to install the UM2/UM2+ printhead (and geared feeder if possible) as it transforms the UMO into a completely new printer.
  17. really that sucks. I know a guy (3Dworkbench) that has an Ultimaker 2 and had the chance to test a Sigma, and he told me about the fan noise, but also that it would be fixed soon (firmware? replacement fans?). Since I got the Ultimaker 2 I haven't deeply checked the 3D printing market, so I don't know which machines are direct competitors, but the Sigma seems to be a good rival for the Ultimaker, although BCN3D is part of a non-profit organization and that leaves them more space to innovate (rather than get a lot of benefits).
  18. Added some of my top songs, but only the calm ones. I don't want you to have a headache because of my techno rave music. Daft Punk - Technologic Rapper's Delight - The Sugarhill Gang Hey Ya! - Outkast
  19. TWO METERS LONG?!?!?! May the force be with you if you want to lift that! Any more info about weight, total printing time, etc?
  20. @krys I checked today and I've been printing for 6666 hours, but the printer has been on for 9000 hours, mainly because I also leave print at night that finish printing at 4-5am, which leaves a time gap until I get off bed.
  21. Well... or a custom firmware where you can adjust the screen contrast and where you can define a sleep timer that switches off the led lights and/or the screen after a certain amount of time without user interaction... You're right, it's too late for you, but it's there (since a year or so...) It'a already done! You think about absolutely everything! <3
  22. A screensaver would be great, but I don't think it would be possible with the electronics. Maybe a custom firmware where you can hide the "time left" message and just put a progress bar in one tiny corner to avoid ghost images. Well, it's too late for me, but it could implemented for future users!
  23. Hi everyone! I've been printing for more than 5000 hours with my Ultimaker 2 and some weeks ago I noticed there was a ghost image of the printing time left, which is visible when you're on the main menu. I've searched on Google but it seems I'm the first one that has reported this. Am I the only one? I know there's a lot of people that have had their printers running more hours than me, and I want to know if it's a unique case (my printer is alive?) or if it's a common issue with this type of screens. Just let you know that except from that ghost image, the screen works great.
  24. Can you ask your friend for some photos of how the block looked like after the incident? Maybe there was a leak and it burnt so bad it transformed into a black solid lava block?
