I still need to make a short youmagine page as well with my very simple sensor holder and quick instructions...
@amedee - while you are at it...
What about the camera holder from your video? Is this a raspi-cam?
Are the model files available somewhere?
-
Damn, this idea is even better than the permanent marker
:)
Another option:
-
Here is my proposition (you need to first create the target dirs cura-xxx, and remove the standard dirs):
Nice!
...but what happens if you accidentally start 2.4.0 while 2.3.1 is already running...(and vice versa)?
-
I miss one important thing in the screenshots...
What about the setting: "material diameter"?
-
well where is the gcode script that the UM2 uses when you do that?
It's not a simple gcode script, it's a firmware function, start here:
https://github.com/Ultimaker/Ultimaker2Marlin/blob/master/Marlin/UltiLCD2_menu_print.cpp#L942

The prime tower is in the way... (back right corner)
You can disable it, or change the position ("Advanced" settings)
-
one superfluous comma at the end of the line...
You can validate json structs here: http://jsonlint.com/

Installing the recent original firmware corrupts some of the stored "tinker settings" (and vice versa).
Check (at least) the preferences for "Print area" (or make a factory reset to restore the defaults):
-
So does anyone have any further ideas before I contact Ultimaker support?
mmmhh, are you sure, that you have placed the plug of the small 5V fan at the correct connector ("Fan 5V" J34)? If you accidently plugged it to the 8/16 STEP (JP3)...this would explain your symptoms...
-
@tinkergnome, do you think this could have to do with the firmware?
mmmhh, let's say: there is a certain probability, but the reason is unknown yet. As Nicolinux said, it seems that re-arranging the ribbon cables helped in particular cases, but this is perhaps just a coincidence...
@devilflash: as far as I know, Bondtech offers a (modified) standard firmware as well. You should try if this one works better for you.

Hauptmenü -> Material -> Settings -> Customize

Do you know of a more platform agnostic method?
Sorry, I'm not familiar with Python. But there's no authentication necessary to read the status and the snapshots. How about completely removing of "__checkAuth" and "loadAuth"?

@unlimitedbacon: Welcome to the forum! Great idea, thanks for sharing!
I have one small question / change request: the module "pwd" is not available for Windows systems. Is there a specific reason, why you changed this part?
-
There's a way, but it's not 'problematically'...
(..at least not, if the printer is connected to a network).
The possibilities are explained in this topic:

Is this issue corrected? (Just had one user report this issue in the french section). And had one customer with it too...
It doesn't seems so...

Keine Infos ?

... or apply a solution of 1/3 wood glue (is also made of PVA) and 2/3 water if you dont want to dissolve your expensive PVA :-)
Well, you can still re-use the PVA - after it has been printed - for this purpose, right? (ask, how I know...)
Additional hints regarding the original question: you can try the following:
- increase the printing temperature for PVA a bit
- increase the feeder tension (approx. to 70% of the max. position)
- increase the flow rate (try 120%)
All three things can be tuned during printing. You'll see the difference. +5°C and a good feeder tension worked for me. Increasing the flow is the emergency solution.

every single time I let up on a mouse button, Cura starts reslicing. Can that be delayed?

With the preconditions that you use Cura and UltiGCode and a recent firmware version:
The retraction settings are stored on the printer. If you haven't done it yet, you should check the settings of the currently selected material profile.
Material -> Settings -> Customize -> Retraction...
I assume, that the values of the stored retraction length and speeds are a bit weird...
During a print, you should be able to check the retraction settings in the "TUNE"-menu.
Longer explanation:
If you have imported the settings from the MATERIAL.TXT file... there seems to be an issue with the recent firmware version:

-
Is this an intended feature for some reason? Is it a bug in the software, or maybe just a setting that I can disable somewhere?
Probably the second printcore is still selected as "Platform Adhesion Extruder" in Cura.
In addition you should set the printing- and standby temperature of the second printcore to zero, if it is not used for this print.

Nach diesen "M104" / "M109" - Zeilen wird nur gesucht, wenn vorher die Tool-Change Befehle gefunden wurden (state == 2). "G10 S1" setzt state=1 und ein nachfolgendes "T0" oder "T1" setzt state=2

What about the "Blecheimer method"?
