Thanks i forgot about that. Ideally id like to save it filling in the entire bottom but .3 is better than nothing. Ill give 0.06 a go.

Im using cura 15.04.02 and dont like change, so i was just curios if i could edit the gcode or do something to save me printing some of my bottom layer (or first layer), as with high res it takes ages before it even gets started and used loads of filament.

Just print offf the roll dude. It solved nearly all my problems.

I have a um2 and three weeks later the um2+ came out. i dont care im happy, ive learnt how to deal with it, so its no worse than the um2 + in my opinion. if im getting perfect prints, the plus will give me no better. ill get one only when my prints start suffering. its mainly for people who have issues with the feeder and fan. and i dont.

I think it could. But you most certainly couldn't. You are basically using the image of the Ultimaker2 to sell your 'parts'. Its called false advertising. Basically. Its wrong.

im in london. ive just been playing with zbrush for a few months on and off to tell you the truth, i originally used it to clean up my memento scans as they always needed cleaning up . i just free sculpt at the mo, but ive always loved drawing and am falling in love with 3D sculpting as it can produce things at a speed i could never match in 2d with the addition of being able to print it out . i was seriously ill on holiday in australia so i set myself one day sculpts to try to learn to be faster as i need to improve (hence all my 80s stuff). organic stuff is what i really like as i can knock it out fairly quickly. this is my lasetst attempt, inspired by the 1982 movie 'The Thing'... so far so good.....but for the first time ever im using 0.06 with a 0.8 shell instead of my usual 1.2 so it gets done within 24 hrs, just, lol.

True, colorfabb is soft and is the only filament brand ive ever used. Apart from um.

70 years it pretty good. Its an average lifetime, and i just cant help printing anything i sculpt. its an addiction of some sort. Im sure im not the only one. Realising my digital creations is just too tempting to not do. All my nostalgia can now be recreated and fill my house!

Ive never had filament break on me, no matter how old or where ive left it. Possibly another advantage of printing off the roll?

Fair enough, but if the pftes are identical in size i still dont see any correlation between density and spring tension. Im just gonna assume they didnt see any hydraulic pressure from the old ones (in their experience) and did with the new ones, hence made the claim. In my opinion the way you replace the spring and perhaps some other parts and distances is what causes the movement, not the density of the pfte, i just cant see it making any difference.

What difference does the material of the PFTE make on spring pressure? Ive had the spring move up before due to hydraulic pressure even with the old pftes, and really it doesnt make much difference apart from pushing too hard during atomic pulls, it otherwise didnt effect the quality of my prints at all.

My opinion is if you start with it on then leave it on to the end. If you start with it on and it cools because you turned the bed off, it will come off the plate even if you used glue. I leave the printer on all day and night and have not seen much of a dent in my electricity bill, btw.

Fair enough but youll get issues like that from time to time if your not careful anyways, especially at the start if your learning. Took me months to figure stuff out. I thought my printer was broken many times. Luckily it wasnt. I dont have yours in front of me so i cant really say for sure.

I honestly dont know why people even export stls files. I never do and have zero issues. Just export an obj. Obj is limited by polycount, but for cad stuff you will always be fine. Its into the millions so dont even worry about it. I use millions of polys frequently and have no problems. I also do almost all my slicing in max or maya and they produce identical results. If your model is not closed then you need to close it. Auto capping does not always work the way you expect. And @tidusho, seriously man, dont try to print that in one go, do the legs seperately. Also why abs? unless you really need to? but just print with pla. There are no real advantages other than maybe heat for abs so if its going to be outside or something in the sunlight. Some people print with abs for no reason at all.

Yes i am old but that just means ive been through a lot. I often go over the top on subjects because of my old age and yes you are right about my mind, i just make up a fantasy and stick with it. I also lose track of the length of my posts so apologies for that. I wont offer my opinions anymore dont worry at least you can get your money back because you paid in paypal. When i was young i wondered why old people complain so much, now i know. I will stay in my mud and not throw it at people any more.
