  1. when you dip an object, material is dissolved and washes away. when you spray an object, material melts into the horizontal lines. 8 bucks for a can, worth it's weight in gold.

  3. that's a feature, it removed your print for you!! Seriously tho, I've had this happen to me and its damn frustrating if you're swapping filament on a long print and it knocks your object off the platter.. the fix seems like it would be a simple one, drop the bed before you move the head?
  4. looks like retraction settings to me, you could try turning min layer time down too. I've had issues that looked like that when the print head pulled off the print to accommodate cooling for too long.
  5. weird, 15.02.1 here, i have the same issue with aborted prints retracting and not fully priming too but I've had no problems changing filament in the middle of a print. if anything, it usually pumps out a bonus glob. Would be nice to have a material move setting off the pause menu tho, totally agree.
  6. One of the main reasons I bought an Ultimaker 2 was the forum and the member's active roles in helping other users. The forum has been replaced with a shiny interface and extremely poor usability. I feel like a good friend went to get a bunch of plastic surgery and the anesthetic wasn't administered correctly. Please turn the pretty brain damage off, we need our forum back. PS: Compromise? keep everything else the same, just point the "forum" link on the new shiny homepage to the old format forum? Please. sincerely, everybody
  7. Thanks! It's a print based on the high speed photography experiments by Harold Edgerton, everything was printed on an Ultimaker2, .1 layer, .08 wall, 10% infill, 10% line support. Designed/kitbashed using tinkercad and meshmixer.. Post process involved lots of chanting and elf tears.
  8. so lost :/ cant upload prints, site seems to work like facebook now, most popular reply at the top? website almost unusable, please change it back! edit: thank you daid, we all appreciate your efforts.
  9. I still want a couple.. in the mean time I'm going to try building one of these with old cd rom drives: http://www.instructables.com/id/eWaste-60-3DPrinter/
  10. ha! got me too, nearly made it to my search bar before I thought better of it printed for a buddy, 6 hours on the platform, blue LED on a post mounted thru the base w simple switch and a few AA's
  11. +1 on the printhead centering for atomic pull purposes.. also, I'd like a warning when writing to SD card that there's another file with the same name that previously exists, and I'd like to be given the opportunity to save with a modifier tag ie filename_1. Freaking awesome software BTW, huge thanks for allowing requests to be thrown out here!!
  12. BEAUTIFUL DESIGN!! Can't wait to see where this goes, really cool concept! hmm... an awesome use of this would be hot swapping print heads with on-board material resevoirs, one is loaded and pre heated while the other is printing. removes all material "feeding" issues, much more consistant pressure could be achieved too I'd guess.
  13. very weird.. kinda looks like a "material availability" issue, maybe crank up your print head temp a few degrees, could try tighting the feeder tension a bit too after making sure no plastic bits are cought in the teeth of the knurled wheel. impressive note-taking btw!
  14. maybe turn on zhop? too many benifits of 15 to turn back now!!
  15. I had similar symptoms, fixed by raising the infil overlap percentage. Good luck!!
  16. I've had the same issues with underhanging curves, solved by tweaking temps (both bed and head,) and print speed. Might be one of those thats needs to be tuned on the fly and babysat unless you want to brave plug-ins to fine tune it. Nice bowls BTW!
  17. this thread is pure gold, very inspiring work done by all here!!
