  1. Does anyone know if 3DGBIRE is still approved by Ultimaker? I put an order in for a glass bed a few days ago as i badly need a new one and no reply from them at all. Order is still processing :(
  2. Thanks guys, think i might try printing it as mentioned above and see how it looks
  3. So, I upgraded to the Ultimaker 2 Extended + a while back. But now the + stickers are coming off and need to be replaced. Is there anywhere i can get them? Can Ultimaker sends me out a couple? I know it's kind of silly, but I like having them on there If anyone in Ultimaker can help that would be great, or point me in the direction of where i can get some elsewhere. Thanks
  4. No, I generally don't bother with ABS any more. The enclosure/door is just used when I want to control the temperature and avoid any drafts or sudden temp drops.
  5. It's on a table and doesn't seem to shake or anything. I do have some gel feet cushions on it to reduce any shake etc.
  6. I have the exact same thing happening to my UM2+ Extended for the last month or so. It was originally an UM2 that i upgraded a while back. I tightened the pulleys as instructed when doing the upgrade and all was well, but now i have the sound. Anyone any ideas?
  7. SanderG, I really do hope you guys are pushing the assembly/QC guys to sort out these issues. I for one have decided not to buy an Ultimaker 3 Extended because of what looks like amateur build quality. To be honest, it looks like it's built to the same standard as cheap Chinese import 3D printers, which is a shame as my UM2 Extended + had fantastic build quality.
  8. Hmm, I was planning on picking up an UM3 Extended in the next month or so to go alongside my UM2 Extended+. But now I think I'll wait as the quality control does seem shocking on these and I dont fancy sending a printer back multiple times to get one thats been put together by someone who gives a damn about their work. Ultimaker, I'd be all over these quality control issues if i were you. Currently you have a great reputation in the 3D printing community, one that other companies would kill for. It'd be a real shame to get new reputation for expensive and badly built printers.
  9. I've done a few 7-8 day print jobs and once everything is tuned in its no problem. I use an external spool holder for these prints as usually its a 2.4KG spool from Colorfabb, so a bit heavy and large for the back of the Ultimaker 2 Extended +.
  10. Just curious, what would we see if we plugged something into the HDMI on the A20 LIME2? Or is the display out removed or disabled in some way? I think I have a A20 LIME2 knocking around from an old project and am pretty sure it was standard HDMI on it.
  11. It's not the end of the world, just an odd choice for a high end machine in my mind. Anyway, many options available for time-lapse footage with spare iPhone's and GoPro and whatnot For just checking in on prints whats there is perfectly serviceable. I do have another question. If I'm printing away using 2 different colours(so not using PVA supports), can I change the filament in on one extruder while the other is still printing? So it might be printing away, i swap out one of the spools and as its feeding in the new material it moves across to allow a bit of plastic out and wipes it and then continues printing away. I know it sounds messy but would be a nice option to get a lot of different colours going in one print without having to do an outright "Pause". In the past the Pause and continue can lead to issues for some people.
  12. Cost and size vs feature. We wanted to fit the camera in a small corner, this removes quite some options. Producing a custom camera board for our volumes isn't possible (we're not Samsung or Apple) so we had to lift with what is out there. The main feature is monitoring your print, and 800x600 is quite good for that. It also needed a wide-angle lens, which limited the options even more. Quality of the image is quite good: I get what you're saying. But i think you could have found at least a 720p or 1080p sensor in the roughly same price and size range. I'm not expecting a 4k sensor in there Purely from a selling point, all the specs look very good to the average person, with the exception of the camera resolution(best to leave that off the specs sheets and advertisements). Anyway, I just think its a lost opportunity to have something for those of use who like to do time-lapses and will have to continue using external camera or phones to do it.
  13. Oh dear, UM3 looks awesome, but why such a really low res camera? I mean there are so many possibilities for the camera once there are software hacks and custom firmware's or just features added officially over the coming year/s. But with a low res camera like that it really is only ever going to be useful for basic monitoring. Sorry, I'm a camera guy so seeing a 800x600 sensor on a very expensive device in 2016 is quite shocking. Still, the rest of the printer looks pretty great.
  14. Also, I'm wondering. The "+" sticker, is it long lasting, easy to apply properly? I know, I'm a bit mental about these things
  15. Is the PTFE coupler the same upgraded part that 3dsolex sell? I've already got that and it works well. So if the upgrade kit contains an inferior version I'd swap it out right away. Thanks
  16. Lots of info and experiences here from the 1.0 version up to 1.5 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2469638 Lot of info for the mods as well.
  17. Yes, it's quite small and cute. The print quality is surprising very good for 200ish euro worth of 3D printer I've printed at 0.3, 0.2 and 0.1mm @ 15-20mm/sec and I've very impressed with the results. I will say this, it needs a few mods to get the most out of it. But nothing expensive or hard to print(SD and LCD, fans etc).
  18. So, it looks like my Ultimaker 2 Extended and Form1+ got together and made a little baby 3D printer
  19. They look good I've a question, why print at 100 microns using the .60 nozzle and not the smaller .40? Is there a benefit doing it this way? I've an olsson block myself so an just curious.

  23. I bought the hood from a 3d printer store in Germany(can't remember the name, but the owner is registered on here i think). It's pretty great, but the clear plastic is acrylic and gets scratched up, I might replace that with polycarbonate sheets at some stage(maybe when getting the a door made up). The dinos are just some vase mode prints i was testing out.
  24. Yes, I'm sure it would look better at a normal res But i did a vase today at 0.7mm and it actually suited the style of the vase quite well.
