  1. I had the same problem. Probably a bug in Cura connect which is hard to track down. Somewhere in the maintance menu there is an option to reset Cura connect. This solved the problem for me.
  2. Thanks for looking into it @Marco_TvM ? May I ask what PO stands for ??
  3. Ok. That's why I was asking as I didn't know how much effort it would be to do such. Just wanted to share my idea for "improvement". Thought it wouldn't be to difficult as other plugins also add a setting to the preference pane. Thank you @ahoeben for taking the time to program this great plugin! What about changing the background of the dropdown to be dark like the other items in the line and the Text to be white (Same color, size etc. like the Printer Name) ? Can we find another/shorter Name for Recommended or find symbols? This way we could reduce the width of the button. Recommended isn't a good name anyway IMHO.
  4. @emilio2 As my ultimaker does not show the behaviour you are describing could you please do a factory reset and run updated g-code file? Did you just change the feeder or did you also install a new bowden tube?
  5. @ctbeke told me about this plugin and I ❤️ it as the settings menu was annoyingly small on my 13" notebook screen! May it be possible to move the Custom/Recommended tab into the settings field? IMHO this would make the interface look "cleaner" as the current dropdown looks somewhat out of place. I also know that I probably only use use recommended view 2% of the time. In the settings menu I would probably create the following structure: --------------------------------- Interface <- Main Menu --------------------------------- - View | Custom v | | Recommended | As everyone has his own preferences maybe an option in the settings menu may be a more universal way: --------------------------------- Interface <- Main Menu --------------------------------- - Hide Print Setup [ X ] - View | Custom v | | Recommended | While the View Menu behaves like the following settings: What do you think about it? How difficult/time intensive is it to implement this?
  6. This shouldn't happen and looks like a bug. Could you share how you achieved this as I can't reproduce this on my machine.
  7. May it be possible to add an option to disable the nozzle heating up to, I think, the waiting temperature of the loaded material? I know it’s heating up to account for thermal expansion as well as filament still left on the nozzle, but a hot nozzle limits the use of the automatic leveling to specific surfaces. Being able to do cold probing may allow to use the automatic leveling with Ultimaker adhesion sheets or other adhesive sheets. What do you guys think about it ?
  8. You can run the attached g-code just like any other print job to set the steps per mm for your DDG. Yes, I think so, but there probably won't be any new firmware for the UM2+ by Ultimaker. I do recommend the TinkerGnome firmware as it has some great features. steps-bondtech.gcode
  9. Couldn’t you use BCN Cura or Lulzbot Cura as an LTS Version? I mean they usually only do bigger jumps and do bug fixes in between. I‘m kinda afraid to see Cura branch even more as I think this may release in slower development as everyone starts to do their own thing. Maybe a first step would be to get more testers by doing more smaller upgrades? Microsoft Office for example has the insider program. How much effort/manpower would an LTS Version be if you only merge the bug fixes? Disclaimer: I‘m not a software dev and therefore can’t judge how much work it takes to maintain such version.
  10. Why not do it the same way as with the Ultimaker 2+ feeder upgrade? The feeder upgrade for the UM2 shipped with this small backplate if you remember.
  11. I don't think that Cura calculates the pressure build up in the nozzle. I may be wrong, but I never heard such. I think @ghostkeeper may know more.
  12. @SandervG will Ultimaker be also offering the new alu build plate for UM3/UM2+ user later this year ?
  13. Looking forward to it! Thank you for this information Not a lot has been said about those small user interface improvements. Therefore I'm quite intrigued to hear about such. I would ask if you could show some pictures, but it seems like you are not allowed to showcase more. Will it also be possible to see the preview on my computer/mac/linux system as a preview? So I can easily see what I sliced? I think thats because it seams IMHO that Ultimaker stops developing/upgrading the older machines after releasing a new one. Therefore you generate the need to upgrade to be sure to not be left behind. As an example: Ultimaker still sells the UM2+, but hasn't given it the new build platform of the UM3 even though it would be quite easy to do. Same with the feeder. Many people need/use tools to operate it. Ultimaker come up with a better way, but only limits it to the s5 :/ Thats a bit of shame IMHO. I'm not generally talking about upgrade kits. Hopefully this wasn't to negative @nallath as you had enough negativity on twitter already :/
  14. Hey @nallath, what did you work on for the Ultimaker S5 launch? Any interesting story you can share ?
  15. Sadly it's not If you don't want to spent 12.000$ you can still print yourself a wedgebot https://www.youmagine.com/designs/wedgebot-for-ultimaker2 or buy a bondtech ddg or do both
  16. So we may be able to buy print cores for such materials soonish. YESSS Yes, I already said on twitter that the days of the wedgebot are probably a thing of the past Looking forward to see how you did solve this mechanically without getting into trouble with makerbot/stratasys.
  17. The new controller board doesn't by "accident" use the footprint? Generally I would agree, but in this specific case I would disagree as it is such an important thing. I also don't think that professional would wan't to worry about a filament runout when they bought a machine for 3000+ Euros. I would have been super happy as I already have the plug for the sensor installed on my UM3 but I can understand it from a business perspective. And yes, I do like upgrades as I don't like to be "forced" to buy new things. Anyhow! Can you share a bit more about the new sensor and feeder @Daid ? Is it a mechanical solution or do you use an optical sensor ? Someone from Ultimaker also said that the gear is also different? @tomnagel did you maybe work on this team? How does the new mechanism disengage from the filament without voiding a patent by makerbot/stratasys? A picture of the internals would be great @Daid From the video it also looks like you finished reworking the cable stress relief of the printhead ?
  18. Great! Looking forward to see what you came up with as I know that duet3d and prusa also haven't found the best solution to spot such yet. May this also be available for the Ultimaker 3 series ? So it's a completely new system internally? I would have thought that you are using the same olimex and just add the different protocols for the screen
  19. Great! I guess you are using new trinamic stepper drivers and maybe even a new 32 bit controller? Haha I first thought that someone at Ultimaker liked his Tesla Model S tooooo much
  20. Looking nice! How did you come up with the name? Can you already share a bit more information regarding the changes/improvements?
  21. I would think it hasn't been fixed yet as this is the response from Ultimaker: The good thing is it's on the radar of fixing ;D
  22. Thanks for the update @robinmdh Let's wait and see what the "BIG" news is all about. Excited for what Ultimaker has planned for version 5.x.x. Hopefully it's not to far away
  23. It's unexpected/wrong behavior as well as the worry that material fills the printhead ( @kmanstudios also reported such) and damages my printer if I don't watch out as it sometimes also goes the other way around. It hasn't happened to me since a long time, but I know it may happen as it hasn't been fixed . Would love to not have to think about it! There is also another blob issue reported here:
  24. The blob I meant is created on the printed part. The picture was meant to show the looooooong retraction.
