He,

I just installed the new release.

Not any crash at opening but  program freezes (« not responding »)  during  10 à to 20 seconds at each action / profile param value update, insert or delete or move any item on the build plate, record profile, etc. Loading a project is so so slow.

I do not have any of these problems with my current 4.3.0  version fortunately still active.

Spectre, Win 10 family 64 bits, Intel I7 6500 CPU, 8Go

Active printer : MK2

sorry

    No need to say sorry!

    That's  really slow.

Can you send me your logs?

Can you also check what's going on in task manager? How much CPU and mem usage is Cura.exe using?

EDIT: @OUPS65 I saw that in GH, smartavionics may have a solution for you. Can you let us know if that works? If it's OK with you, I'd appreciate it if you can still send me the logs anyway. That way we can still take a look to find out what happened.

    He,

I did not dare try the solution of GH which seems too complex for me.

By the way, what do you means by 'logs" ? ( I enclosed  3mf and profiles Cura 4.40 and Cura 4.3.0)

I found a solution  in the forum :

well, my problem was not at start, but  I made the following, based on his suggestion :
norton -> pare feu -> controle programme -> ajouter ( add a new program autorisation) -> selected CURA 4.4.0 and gave full autorisation.
the reaction speed of this beautifull program has greatly improved, even if it is not a "speedy gonzales".

    What printers did you have?

Are you connected to a networked printer?

We have observed this behavior with network connected printers - occassionally, even if Cura is idle, it shows a high memory usage.

    Hi,

guess you are not using an Ultimaker S5 or S3.

    https://ultimaker.com/learn/intent-profiles-ultimaker-cura-4-4

    Quote

Each Intent profile works with the Ultimaker S5 Pro Bundle, Ultimaker S5, and Ultimaker S3 when used with our range of PLA, Tough PLA and ABS materials – as well as compatible support materials like PVA and Breakaway.

I've been holding off updating cura or the firmware on my UM3 for months, it just seems the newer releases have a lot of issues.

Can anyone running a UM3 with current firmware and also Windows 10 64 bit with Cura 4.4 advise how it is going?

    Thanks

    John

Cura 4.4 has many annoying problems, some models are taking ages to slice and my 4.3 profiles are not working properly anymore. I don't know how many changes were made in the slicing core, but it seems something is very wrong. As example, I've attached a ridiculous model I created to calibrate the extruder which takes a long time. Another problem I've seen is the distance from model to support, when using 0.12mm as layer height, you can't set 0.24mm as Z distance, if so Z distance will be set as 0.12mm. In order to work around it, i'm using 0.241mm as Z distance.

Yes, using per-model settings does cause UM Cura to slow down. You could try one of my releases which has some of the issues fixed. Your calib_matrix model takes < 4s to slice. You can find my releases at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/s43vqzmi4d2bqe2/AAADdYdSu9iwcKa0Knqgurm4a?dl=0. Please read the README.md file there for more details.

Hi guys, I think you have the best slicer software, I've been using Cura since version 3, in fact I didn't want to swap to Cura 4, then I saw it was faster without slicing anytime you change settings, but since Cura 4.2 it is not supporting Klipper, I'm using Klipper in both of my printers Ender 3 and Tevo Tarantula, but anytime I install Cura 4.2 or 4.4 or any version after 4.1 it makes a lot of changes and my custom profiles are removed for Ender 3 and it makes me work with the default profile, even when I create a new custom profile, 1st I cannot name it as the old profile, in this case I had to rename Klipper 2019 to Klipper 2019. and even when I create the new profile it doesn't work with the settings for Klipper, it is a lot slower, even in my Tevo Tarantula where it preserve the old profiles it works a lot slower, please take a look to the images, until now I have to use only Cura 4.1 because none of the newer versions work with Klipper firmware besides they remove older custom profiles for Ender 3

We just did a patch release. Ultimaker Cura 4.4.1 contains some fixes to critical issues and also includes updated profiles for Ultimaker materials.

Download it from the usual place. Merry Curamas! 🎅

That sounds good. Is there a list of changes compare to 4.4.0 available?

Edit: Can see it after installation.

    4.4.1

    Bug fixes
    - Fixed problem where wrong material was selected by default.
    - Fixed a problem where custom profiles were disappearing when loading a project without a nozzle profile.

Patch releases are always bugfix releases (in the case of Cura at least).

We got a number of automatic crash reports that helped us solve some problems that we weren't able to fix with the reports we got from the beta release.

    Hello.
Is it possible to get help connecting Cura 4.4.1 with Octoprint.
In the marketplace, it says that octoprint is installed.
But I can't get the field where the API key needs to be entered.
I can't delete or update Octoprint in the marketplace.
Is anyone here to help with this?
    Thanks in advance
    Leif.

Just installed 4.4.1 but it still crashes on installation - same as 4.4.

I've sent the log file as requested.

You need to get in touch with @ahoeben for this, as he maintains the plugin

Hi @lela, could you open a new thread for this? I'm happy to help you, but it might involve some back-and-forth that will confuse this thread.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
